Description Wikipedia

Name: Bernard Fokke
Born: c. 1600; Netherlands
Died: August 26, 1676; Sunda Strait
Allegiance: Templars

Bio: Not much is known about the life of the mysterious sailor known to the history books as Bernard Fokke.  It is known that he was a Frisian man who worked for the Dutch East India Company in the mid to late 17th century, and that he was a member of the Dutch Rite of the Templar Order.  His most famous attribute was his legendary speed. Rumors said that he was able to make trips from the Netherlands to Java in only 3 months and 4 days, a legend proved by dated letters delivered to Governor Rijckloff van Goens in 1678.

While many claimed his impossible speeds were granted to him due to a deal with the Devil that Fokke was rumored to have made, those in the circles of his enemies, the Assassins, suspected otherwise.  They determined correctly that Fokke was carrying a Piece of Eden, one which the Dutch Mentor Arend Michaël had received from the American Mentor Kahente in 1637. Arend set out to the East Indies sea to hunt the Templar captain down and reclaim what was stolen.  The two ships ended up clashing right as nearby volcano was erupting and hurling it's fiery blaze down upon them. Arend managed to kill Fokke and take the Piece of Eden during the chaos, but both ships were torn apart by lava and ash before either could escape, dragging every last soul to the bottom of the ocean.

Bernard Fokke’s ship, the Vliegende Hollander, would later inspire dozens of stories about a mysterious ghost ship called the Flying Dutchman, rumored to still prowl the waters to this day.

Hm, did you use some sources or used your own artistic freedom?

A little bit of both.  I always try to gather as much research from as many sources as I can scrounge up whenever I studying the settings I want to use in my stories.  Unfortunately it can be hard to find information on men who are more legend than history like Fokke is, and that's generally where the artistic liberties take more of a center stage, much as I try to keep them to a minimum

Could I ask for them, if you remember them by chance, please?

I'm especially interested in the info where and when he died.

Unfortunately I don't remember them off the top of my head Generally speaking I try to find at least three different Articles and citations when doing my research if possible.  I was never actually able to find a specific date and location for his death (which from a story writing standpoint was helpful for the narrative I wanted to create, but still).  The latest historical account I could find of him was his famous speedy trip for the East India Company in 1678, so that was the time frame I used for my story.
