“Ten years have passed since the atrocity of Krakatoa, and yet I am still hunting down the man responsible. He has fled to his homeland after leaving mine in ruins. He believes himself safe there. He is wrong. I need to stop him before anymore innocent lives are taken by his hand. I have hunted him down here, my blade ready to meet his flesh. And yet… something won't stop bugging me. Something makes me wonder if he is still the same man I confronted at the volcano. He is… different, and not in a good way. He is crueller, more extravagant, more… hellish. I don't know what it is, but quite honestly I don't care. My only priority is to the people of the Dutch East Indies. They will not be safe, will not be free, until the Templar Grand Master is dead. And I, Apsarini Rajawali, will make sure to see it through.”

I guess you could call these short stories a tradition now XD But hey, I like these ^^ They kinda serve a similar role to the big DLCs that Ubisoft puts out for every main AC game. I dunno. They just feel like a nice little addition to these fanfics to make them feel more like something in the AC world. Plus they're a good way to add a little lore and hints at the future

So this is “From Shadows”. I figured since the last short story took its title from a song on the RWBY soundtrack, this one should too XD Apsarini’s journey is continued as ten years after the events of “Cinder Fall”, she is still on the hunt for the diabolical Huibert Gerard Boumeester, who has returned to the Netherlands to conduct his evil schemes there. Apsarini is quick to give chase, and so she finds herself in a whole new world a hemisphere away. She'll uncover a despicable plot against her people, and also a much darker secret, one that could determine the future fate of the entire human race. Will she be able to end the plot and save the world in time? Or will the Templars, past and present, gain the upper hand in this wavering fight?
