Bio: Jacobus Antony Waleson was a Dutch military officer and member of the Templar Order.  Born into the Order in 1807, Waleson had life made for him right from the start. He was appointed a sergeant in the Army by the time he was 19, and was a personal tutor to the future King Willem III, teaching the future ruler in the art of crafting and selling weapons.

One of Waleson’s first claims to fame was when he participated in the Ten Day Campaign against Belgian rebels during the 1831 Belgian Revolution.  While the campaign was lost to the rebels, Waleson's starring performance during the fighting was revered. In 1836, he set his sights on the Dutch East Indies, voluntarily joining the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army and setting sail for the colonies.  He was appointed a captain in 1840, and was assigned to the west coast of Sumatra under General Andreas Victor Michiels. Waleson was later promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1851.

In 1856, Waleson was assigned to lead a military expedition to assist the governors and civil administration in Lampung, where the Templars’ enemies, the Assassins, were trying to stir up rebellion against the colonial regime.  For his services, Waleson was made a Knight in the Militaire Willems-Order the following year. Two years later, in 1859, Waleson took command during the Second Bone War. Whilst his commanding officer was heavily injured in battle, Waleson stepped up to the plate and took the charge, holding off the enemy until reinforcements arrived to win them the day.  For his bravery, Waleson was promoted to Major General in 1862. He was also selected to be the next commander of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army after General Charles Pierre Schimpf resigned in 1865, but Waleson declined the position, believing General Augustus Johannes Andresen to be more qualified for the post.

By 1880, the Templars had gained near complete dominance over the Dutch East Indies, having just crushed the Aceh and their Assassin allies in the Aceh War that had been going on since 1873.  The Indonesian Mentor, Ibrahim Lamnga, was killed in battle in 1878, leaving the Assassins scattering and disorganized. The Templars, by then under the command of Huibert Gerard Boumeester, were able to continue their plans without much interference.  Waleson himself was entrusted as Boumeester's bodyguard for his loyalty, and he helped the Grand Master make plans to seek out a Precursor Temple hidden somewhere in the Dutch East Indies.

Waleson died in his home in Padang in late 1882.
