Description

A reference sheet for an Assassin's Creed OC that I based off of my grandfather on my dad's side.  He's a Vietnam War veteran.

Name: James Edward Spainhower

Born: Troy, New York; October 16, 1947

Occupation: Soldier, and other occupations after the war

Allegiance: Assassins

Bio: Jim and his twin brother, William, were born to an Assassin father and mother.  His father, who fought in World War II, was very strict when it came to teaching the boys and their older sister, Mary, in the ways of the brotherhood.  Though Jim understood the cause and took his training with responsibility, he couldn't help but question the strictness of the modern Assassins.

He eventually moved out of the house, moved to Indiana, and fell in love with a young woman named Donna, who would later be inducted into the Assassin order as well.  The two lived a relatively normal life, aside from Jim's occasional mission for the Assassins.  But one day, Jim's life fell apart.  He received a letter in 1967 saying that he had been drafted to go to fight in Vietnam.  He went to the Assassins, trying to see if they could get him out of it.  However, he learned that the Assassins wanted him to go as well, as they felt he would be a perfect candidate for the job.  Angry and sad, he went home and regrettably started packing.  A few days later, he arrived at an airport, said goodbye to his beloved Donna one last time, and boarded his plane.

Jim spent about two years fighting in Vietnam and the surrounding areas.  He met up with the local Assassins, and they informed him of their place in the fight.  They would not allow the Templar-influenced communists to spread their ideals further in the world.  Jim fought hard in those years, and the Assassins even gave him a pet tiger to aid him.  But he was still relieved when he was finally allowed to return home.  The first thing he did when he got home was find Donna, whom he had discovered had married another man.  However, upon learning that Jim had returned, Donna soon divorced her husband and married Jim, her true love.  The two never talked about the War, as they both knew the stories would cause them both pain.

The two had a son, Tim, in 1970 and a daughter, Jen, in 1972, and both kids were raised as Assassins.  Jim and Donna eventually divorced, each one marrying someone new, leaving the kids in emotional despair for a while.  The kids eventually moved out and Jim continued helping the Assassins however he could.  He was one of the lucky Assassins who survived the Great Purge that the traitor, Daniel Cross, had brought upon them.

He and his son, who by then was a father himself, would often but heads with each other.  Jim was much more strict when it came to the Assassin cause, and Tim was much more centered on individual freedoms.  However, they've almost always managed to work out some of their differences in the end.  Though Jim's health is beginning to get increasingly worse as the years go by, he still stands strong, and he does whatever he can to aid the Assassins.
