Description
Name: Macha ArlieBorn: July 13, 1926; Gobi Desert
Allegiance: Assassins
Bio: Macha had known travel all her life. She was born to the Assassin Winona Arlie, a spunky young paleontologist who at the time had been on a joint expedition with her mother Evelyn and the famed Roy Chapman Andrews to uncover fossils in Mongolia. Macha had little memories of Mongolia, however, as the expedition was called off when she was only three. The family returned home after that, though “home” was often relative. Though they technically had a house on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, they hardly stayed there. It was often violent and dangerous, and Winona often had work elsewhere. Whether it be to Siberia in 1935, South Africa in 1938, or Germany in 1944, they were always on the move. It was difficult for Macha, especially when her parents split up as a result of Winona's addiction to her work, and she longed for the day where she could just settle down.
Her opportunity would come in the form of a dashing young gentleman from California by the name of Bromden Arnolds. The two had a few chance run ins during their teenage years, and they formed a very strong bond that eventually formed into love. It was enough to make Winona realize she had to try and slow down and let her daughter have a bit of a life of her own, and so she did her best to help Macha stay in touch with and visit Bromden as often as possible even when far away. Those communities skills would come in handy in 1944 when most of Macha's family got pulled into the clutches of World War 2. Bromden was drafted to the Philippines, Macha's grandmother Evelyn was a casualty in the bombing of Munich, and Macha could do nothing but wait and hope. Thankfully, that wait paid off, as Bromden showed up on her doorstep after the war had finally ended, and he had a diamond ring to offer her.
The two married and started a simpler, more still life together. At first they stayed at Macha's house on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where their daughter Wanbli was born in 1950. However, wanting a place more quiet and calm, Bromden saved up and moved them to the town of Deadwood, where they could all finally be at rest. It was a happy life, but it seems things didn't stay that way. Records of both Macha and Bromden seem to drop out in 1963, though Bromden had been listed as performing government service throughout the early 60s. Both are presumably gone from this world by now, though their still-living daughter never clarified anything about their last days.
Macha is the great grandmother of Ava Arlie.
