Description Ninth and final part of milking my friend famous YouTuber Blobbygobster ’s birthday for content is his isu OC, Neptune.  You may be thinking heeeey wait Ava, there's already a Neptune in Assassin's Creed.  Poseidon was king of Atlantis, haven't you played Odyssey?  Well yes, yes I have.  In fact I had to replay the whole game when compiling my list of historical figures to draw some day.  It was an absolutely grueling experience I hope I never have to pick up again.  Besides, Odyssey couldn't be bothered to make Hades and Aita the same character despite the fact that those names and their respective gods are etymologically identical from a historical perspective.  So fuck it, go for it Brandon.  In fact, I have a few suggestions for how you might want to work with Neptune as a separate character from Poseidon:

I say lean into what AC used to do and identify the Roman pantheon more with their Etruscan counterparts than their Greek ones.  In this case, like how we have “Juno, who was before called Uni.  Jupiter, who was before called Tinia”, here you'd have Neptune, who was before called Nethuns.  Now Nethuns is an extremely obscure god in his own right (like all Etruscan mythology), but I've seen it said that his name may be related to the Celtic Nechtan, described as a son of the god Nuada, though apparently the two names stem from the same root which is commonly tied to the Brittonic equivalent Nodens.  How accurate this is, I have no idea, I just saw that when skimming Wikipedia, and let's be honest as fans of the games, sometimes that's as far as Assassin's Creed goes with its research for isu lore.  I'll probably end up doing a more proper dive once I take a look at Etruscan mythology for my 536 project, but for now I think this little factoid suits our purposes just fine.  Identifying Neptune with Nuada here is why I gave him a bionic arm, since Nuada’s most famous epithet is “silver-hand”, a reference to the magic silver arm he got to replace the one he lost in battle.  If nothing else, I think this would lend itself well to establishing a link between the Irish and Italian sides of Brandon's OCs together somehow.  Hell you might even find a way to link Excalibur with the Trident of Eden here, idk.  Nethuns was a god of lakes and wells, afterall, and Excalibur came from the Lady of the Lake.  Maybe something there?  Idk, just spitballing.

Design notes, every time I draw an isu now, it's with the goal to do a significantly less lazy job than Odyssey.  Instead of just making him a generic Poseidon with some glowy lines, I leaned more on the isu armors that Origins and Valhalla gave us.  Say what you will about the rpg trilogy, at least they finally gave us the fleshed out aesthetic for the isu we were missing in the first few games.  On top of that, I also kinda leaned on… Namor the Submariner XD Hey, look, the shapes actually lent themselves quite well to being isu-ified.  I also drew from some classic Ben 10 designs, like the Techadon arm crawling its way up Cash's body and the tail of Ripjaws.  I like to imagine Neptune can do something similar with the apparatus hanging from his belt, wrapping his legs in a harness and deploying fins to become some kind of cybernetic merman.  His Trident is similarly all sci-fied out.  I imagine he can extend and contract that lightsaber looking part to give him whatever reach he needs, collapsing it down into just the two metal components akin to a Hindu vajra when not using it.  It came out looking a lot more sick than I thought it would, I'm happy with it, and Brandon is too.

And yes, his hair is 100% thinning under that cybernetic crown.  Happy birthday, Brandon, we're dragging you to Shell City to get the crown, save the town, and Mr. Krabs.
