Description

This is an attempt at a humanization/realistic interpretation of the sirens from Rainbow Rocks. I made Adagio's true form here kind of a mix between prehistoric whale species and modern dolphins with just a dash of seal added to the mix.

Sirens are an endangered species that are the modern remnants of a group of animals that time forgot. Over the course of their evolution, they've developed the biological ability to produce magic. They're magic abilities are weak, however, and are in constant need of refueling. They refill by extracting the hormones produced along with negative emotion from other creatures.

They use their magic to enhance their songs, which under normal circumstances would just be a means of communication between other members of their species. But once their complex vocal cords are under the chemical influence of magic, Sirens are capable of producing frequencies that alter the brain chemistry of other creatures. This causes the negative emotions that use the hormones that Sirens fuel their magic with.

There are rare cases of Sirens using complex magic, and using it to warp the spacetime around them to make themselves human in form, similarly to how an angel sprouts their wings. Three sirens were reported with this ability about a thousand years ago, but they were reportedly taken care of by Starswirl the Bearded.
