I wouldn't say she does it for revenge, more so she just wants to stop the bad things from continuing. She wants to see her people at peace, and she wants to keep the American Templars from killing more innocent lives like they did with her father.

In the story she's in, the Assassins had switched their allegiance over to the British by the time the War of 1812 broke out, since the British (at the time) we're more likely to help free the Natives, while the Americans had already begun stealing lands by then.
