Description
It was horror at the city of Rupton as a giant, sea monster ravaged through the city. No one could have predicted such horrific site as this. It happened out of nowhere! Let us recap! It was warm and beautiful day out her on Rupton; everyone was going about their usual routines and not giving a care to the world, all happy and jolly. The cars were honking, the people were walking and the workers were talking. Everyone was unaware of the horror that was going to hit them soon.
People at the beach were enjoying their day, happy and all, when suddenly the water line started receding. Like the logical human beings they were, the curious, naive beach goers chased after the water line, despite learning recently that this was a telltale sign of a tsunami. Fortunately for them, this wasn't a tsunami, unfortunately for them this was the telltale sign of the arrival of the giant fishy monster... lady. Emerging from the deep, the monster roared terrifyingly, scaring off the idiots who chased the waterline. But they couldn't run fast enough to not get scoped up by monster and tossed into her mouth to get devoured. No one needed to wait for the 12 o'clock news to know that a monster was nearing the city, leaving a trail of death and destruction, eating anyone who lay in her path, they just had a feeling.
The city was evacuated to prevent any more deaths, leaving the giant alone to wreck destruction across the city, finding something to devour.
In a military base off the coast of the city limits, several specialists and military strategists are gathered around brainstorming on how to take down the destructive terror.
"Alright maggots," barked General Brock, the self-appointed leader of the group, "what do we know so far?"
"A monster is smashing through the city, sir" said one of the visual specialists.
"Good, good, do we have name for this monster?" asked the General.
"My team is working at it, General," said the main naming specialist.
"Work faster!" he barked, "Now that the important matters have been issued, do we have any idea how to this monster down?" asked the General, sitting on the chair at the end of the command table, situating his post as leader.
"Wouldn't that fall under important matters as well, sir?" asked the rookie specialist.
".... You're fired" Brock sneered, pointing to the exit for the rookie.
"We have something, sir!" a weapon specialist, Mark, claimed proudly.
"Well, spit it out! We don't have all day!" hurried the General.
"Well," started Mark as his associates places a metallic, basketball-like device on the table, "my team and I have been working on a bizarre way to dispatch of the enemy."
"Bizarre?" asked Brock.
"You'll know what I mean in a moment" reassured Mark, "So, what this device does is that, once inside the victim, begins spewing out a green delicious liquid-"
"Delicious?" interrupted the confused General, "why on earth did you make the liquid delicious?"
"We don't know, it just happened, now let me finish! As this device spews out the liquid, the victim gets filled up until they explode!!" Mark nearly screamed, somehow excited about this.
"Huh, that's quite a bizarre plan... But given I don't want to risk destroying the city with deadly weapons of mass destruction, this way seems safer... For us... But will it work to take down... Uhh... Do you gave have a name yet?"
"We're still working on it, sir!"
"Indeed it does, we've tested it several times," said one of the weapons specialists proudly, predicting the question.
"Really?" asked the General, worried, "On whom?"
"Death row convicts," answered Mark instantly, flipping a switch to show a video, "want to see a demonstration?"
"Uhhh" was what everyone said before realizing they didn't have a say in it. The video started, "Here you'll see one of our test subjects swallowing a smaller version of this device, made for humans of course, and awaiting for the device to activate. Now, watch what happens," he says, on the edge of his seat. Within seconds, the woman clutches her middle struggling with the sudden growth within her, she rapidly inflates as the machine within her pumps more liquid. Her belly grows to the size of a large beach ball before it ceases growth, and after a couple of seconds of still pulsations, it detonates, covering the camera in goop, shattering the lens.
"Whoa! Is it usually that quick?" asks one of the strategists, "because that'll save us hundreds in monster prevention safety!"
"We don't get funded for that, it’s supposed to be so secret, not even the banks know," tells another strategist.
"Anyway! In average, it takes approximately 20 seconds for the victims to explode, minimum 7, and maximum 30 seconds. But of course, this is from information gathered by human test subjects,” claimed Mark, "Now, this device is about 5 times larger than the ones used on humans, while the creature is probably... Hmmm... Somewhere around 20 times larger than the average human... Given a human is by average 5ft and the monster is 100ft tall... Probably. So in calculations, it'll probably take several minutes for the monster to explode... Or seconds if it’s a male"
"It’s a woman," reassured the General, "still working on her name though... But why would it take a shorter period of time with males?"
"Well..." shamefully answered Mark, switching to another video, "for some reason the machine works differently for males, watch." as the video began, a man popped the device into his mouth, only seconds before he started drooling green liquid and having his head blown apart.
"Oh dear god!"
"Yes, apparently the machine began prematurely when introduced into the males, but for those who managed to get the machine into their stomachs, ended the same way as the women," he said nodding.
"Alright, so it works!" exclaimed General Brock, "how soon can we introduce the machine into... Name!"
"Jesus, you're not gonna get a name if you keep asking for one every five seconds!" retaliated a naming specialist, "We need time!"
"Uhh... Okaaay... Well, as soon as you can get a couple of soldiers who'll risk their lives taking the machine to the monster, then we're ready to go."
"Great, I know just the two!" said the General.
----------------------------------------------------------
"I can't believe we got stuck delivering the damn device to the giant monster", said the first soldier, Chuck, to his bud, Van, "don't they know we might actually get eaten?"
"I think that's exactly why they sent us," said Van, adding some insight, "we aren't the best soldiers, you know?"
"What, we only blew up one base and we are marked as incompetent, one measly base!" said Chuck angrily.
"Well, when you think of it that way, it doesn't seem like a big deal," said Van, "But if you look at it the way the Lieutenant saw it, we killed around thousands of soldiers."
"You sound like the General," Chuck retorted.
After walking several miles through the apocalyptic ruined city of Rupton, Chuck and Van have realized that the monster was nowhere to be found.
"Huh, seems to be our lucky day. I guess the wittle monsta got scared and ran away," Chuck said humorously.
As if by cue, the earth shook and all the debris rattled as a roar could be heard. Each stomp was stronger than the last but the two soldiers still couldn't see the beast. Standing back to back, the soldiers wield their weapons ready to face monster, knowing all too well that their guns will have no effect.
"She doesn't sound scared, Chuck," Van said, fear in both his voice and eyes, looking around frantically.
"No she do-OH Dear God!" yelped Chuck as he saw the slimy webbed hand of the beast as she turned the corner and targeted her sights on her two next victims. "Van! Van, gimme the device! Van!" Frantically, Van detached the device from his backpack and passed it to Chuck. "Okay... Here goes nothing."
"Alright," said Van, standing by his side, "Wait a minute... How are we supposed to get her to eat the device without us getting eaten?"
"Wait... WhaaaAAAAAH!!!" uttered Chuck in confusion as he was plucked up by the monster, "Van, help! I don't want to get eaten!" He looked and saw Van saluting to him.
"The country appreciates your sacrifice!" Van saluted to Chuck.
"Screw you!" screamed Chuck as he tossed the device at Van before getting gobbled up.
Catching the device, Van looked at it and up at the beast, "ah crap." Knowing if he runs he'd be dooming the city, Van stood his ground. The beast picked him and lifted him to her mouth. "Wait... I could just toss the thing into her-" gulp!
----------------------------------------------------------
"Mack, the device has been swallowed!" announced one of the specialists.
"Excellent!" cheered General Brock, "Now, how long until... Name!"
"I'm getting sick and tired of your asking! It'll be ready when it’s ready!"
"Ugh, when will she explode?" asked the General.
"Well, according to the data the device is giving us... Wirelessly of course," said Mack, amusingly, "it says that it will fill and burst its capsule in approximately 5 minutes."
"Approximately? Can't it be any more specific?" the General asked.
"No. Now settle down, it'll happen in around five minutes either way." reassured Mack.
"Alright," accepted General Brock, "So, when will we see the effects come into play?" he asked as he witnesses the sea monster level a building with one swipe of her tail.
"Well..." began Mack as he typed in his computer, "Ah, within-"
"Seconds..." uttered the General as he saw the monster observe herself.
"Actually within a minute, not-Oh, I see what you mean," said Mack as he looked up.
She knew something was happening within, those two last victims didn't sit well within her stomach. It was strange feeling, one has only felt very few times, she felt full. But not only did she feel full, she also felt herself continuing to fill up, like something sloshing inside her was filling her up with some sort of substance... A delicious substance. Don't ask me how the organ placement in a giant sea monster works.
"You said within a minute, did you mean more or- never mind, I see it happening now!" said the General as he saw the beast gut begin to puff out.
The general wasn't the only to notice, the beast had started to ignore the filling feeling before she felt off balance by a shift in weight. As she looked at her slowly swelling belly, she confirmed that her gut feeling was correct. Quickly, the beast pondered which of her thousand victims it that could have caused this change within her was. Could it have been the lady who was carrying a watermelon? The large gentlemen in the tux? Or was the two strangely out of place men in military gear carrying the odd device? Beats the heck out of her. Though, she shouldn’t be wondering about something insignificant, she should be concentrating on her mysteriously swelling gut, who knows how far it’ll go. The beast thinks quickly on what she can do to calm this assumingly upset stomach. The monster looks to her left, nothing there, looks to here right nothing there-wait! The water tower! Maybe that’ll work!
The team of specialists, strategists and the General watched as the beast rushed towards an unknown destination. “Where is she going?” asked the General.
“I don’t know,” answered a strategist, “but it’s safe to assume it has something to do with her noticing her growing stomach.”
As the monster reached the water tower, she observed it and devised the best way to acquire water from it. After much thought to it and considering her possibilities, grabbed the bottom of the tower and began pulling, ripping it from its foundations. A blast of water from the opening shot the tower out of its base and nearly slipped out of the growing beast’s grip. Maintaining a good hold on it, she quickly raised the opening to her mouth and began chugging down the water in hopes that this will solve her current problem.
The General, upon witnessing this, pondered on the situation, “Hmm… will that be a problem?”
“Actually, the exact opposite!” remarked Mark, “The machine is waterproof so this won’t short circuit the device, which means that the beast is making the estimated time of detonation much shorter!”
“You’re an excellent specialist, Mark,” the General complemented, returning his gaze at the screen.
“Oh, why thank you!” said Mark quite proudly.
As the beast chugged the water, her gut began swelling at a faster pace as the new flow of water met the continuing flow of the device’s liquid. Before she could finish chugging, and before she could realize on time, her growing belly tipped her off balance and sent her falling backwards onto the smaller building behind her. The buildings that didn’t get crushed under the immense weight of the beast held her up at an obtuse angle.
The beast, resting on the buildings, her belly as large as a round bounce house and still growing, was dazed from the fall and tried to think what her next move can be. Well, it certainly isn't lying around a city of sharp corners; she had to get out of there. So, with her dwindling might, she got on her feet, placing her hands on the sides of her back, supporting her gut up. She thought a bit and came up with a better plan quickly, the sea! Where she came from! Some of her friends must have a way of reversing this, they always get their buddy out of any predicament.
In a rushed waddle, the sea monster rushed to the sea, it would have worked had she taken to consideration the small space between buildings and the growing occupancy of her gut. Halfway there, she met with the two famous skyscrapers of Rupton city, unfortunately it was between these two buildings that her belly had swelled out and pinned itself on. Unsure what to do now, the sea monster struggled with trying to free her expanding gut from the ever tightening squeeze of the two skyscrapers. The pressure within and around the expanding belly grew to a nearly unbearable point.
“What’s happening?” asked the General.
“It seems her gut is pinned within the skyscrapers,” observed one of the visual specialists.
“Huh… Time check!” barked General Brock
“Just a minute left.”
“Name?”
“We are almost there! A moment please” said one of the naming specialist.
“Alright, but you’re short on-” before the General could complete his sentence, a crunching sound was heard. Upon looking at the screen, he realized what it was.
Though the skyscrapers’ pinch had the belly pinned and pressured, the gut itself was putting pressure on the sides of the buildings as well. It wasn’t long until the buildings collapsed and bounced off the beast growing belly and landed, smashing several buildings in there thrown path. Now free to grow, her belly swelled well into its limit, groaning against the pressure. The sea monster, after being freed, fell back again onto more buildings, this time unable to get back up due to the immense weight of the growing belly. Looks like this beast is in a pickle now.
"Sir, 15 seconds!"
"Excellent!" cheered the General, "Stay alert, maggots, the moment we've been waiting for is finally going to happen."
The sea monster, on the other hand, wasn't as excited about what was going to happen. Her belly ceased its swelling as it reached its limits, groaning under the growing pressure.
10!
"Sir, sir!" said an eager naming specialist. The belly of the beast giving similar chants.
9!
"What is it, maggot?" asked the general, distracted from the growling belly on the screen.
8!
"We have a name for the beast!" the specialist said excitedly. The other associates watched from the screen as the pale green orb wobbled from the sloshing liquid within the belly.
7!
"Well, spit it out already!" barked the General loudly, nearly as loud as the groans emanating from the soon to be named sea monster.
6!
"We've decided on the name, Leviathan!" announced the specialist proudly. As the two talked, others viewed from the window the large yellow green ball the loomed from the city, anticipating its end.
5!
"Leviathan?" said the general puzzled. In the city, the Leviathan's belly groaned menacingly, creaking with each pump of the device swishing with.
4!
"We decided to name it after the other monster," said the specialist, clearing the air.
She felt, the beast could feel the pressure within her reaching unbearable heights, becoming a struggle to contain it.
3!
"Leviathan," he repeated, "I like it, great work!" he congratulated, shaking the specialists hand.
2!
The general walked up to the screen showcasing the enormous belly, now an angry red, trembling under the pressure. Standing before everyone, the general began, "It has been officially stated, the beast name is..."
1!
"The Leviathan!" he shouted as he pointed to the screen in a dramatic pose.
0!
Having its short lived name, the Leviathan's belly exploded sending gallons of water and the green liquid sky high. Everyone cheered as they saw the giant explosion on screen. Said explosion leveled any building that lay under the beast and her belly.
Once the liquid began its defend, it trickled down, landing on cars and buildings, crushing anything beneath its path. Within seconds, anything that wasn't destroyed in the attack now laid in a cloud of dust as the falling liquid destroyed everything else in sight.
The General, as well as every other specialist and strategist, were speechless at the happening. Turning to Mack, the General, red in the face, marched towards grabbing him by his collar.
"What is the meaning of that!" he yelled in anger.
"Well, the liquid, once at high velocity, has the density to tear through any of its surroundings. It’s an extra for it being a weapon," Mark explained.
"You couldn't have mentioned that first? Look at what happened, do you think this is a reasonable casualty?" General Brock barked.
After thinking for a bit, Mark pulled away and saluted military-like, and spoke in formal fashion, "for the price of freedom, no casualty is too big! Sir!"
"..... You're fired"
"Of course"

Yeah, though I think you'd have a better chance of asking someone else to do that, since I'm not all too keen to draw this kind of stuff (given I draw mostly in public places). I give you permission to do so, if you're eager to ask someone else

I particularly liked the 'Freedom at any cost' line at the end, I have to admit I wasn't expecting a touch of satire, it was rather well written
