It was a beautiful sight, the sun raising over the horizon, hovering above the sea of clouds, watching as they casted shadows onto each other. Ties was a sight that few get to see, but for this mouse viewer, hovering above the clouds momentarily, it’ll be a sight she won’t live through for long.

After being blasted into the sky, and hovering in the air for those precious few seconds of, the girl began her rapid descent towards the clouds. She felt the air slapping her face as she flapped her hands trying to stay afloat, but it was no use as she kept barrelling towards the sea clouds. She knew that once she passed the cloud, she’d only have seconds before splattering on the ground. She shut her eyes and waited for her demise.

Suddenly she felt something envelope, catch her in a silky embrace. She didn’t know if this what it felt like to fall into clouds. When she open her eyes, all she saw was white, silky, smooth white. She reached out and grabbed the whiteness, it was cloth, she somehow got wrapped in cloth, but how? She attempted to get out but she felt like she was floating in this clothy whiteness, unable to pull herself out.

But almost immediately, she began dropping again, like whatever was holding her up was now gone. She continued to fall, seeing a small hole form before her as the cloth around her opened up. Within in seconds, she passed through the hole and saw herself falling face first into a wooden floor. But before she could make impact, someone caught her.

She regained conscious quickly and scanned her surroundings. She was on some sort of wooden ship. The kind you see in pirate movies, but a bit cleaner. Suddenly a shiver shot up her spine when she a heard a voice spoke from behind her, asking “Where’d she come from?” Slowly, she turned around to find the source of the mysterious voice, and upon eye contact, her eyes widened, her mouth opening slightly in awe. She was not looking at one head nor two heads, but looking into the eyes of three scaly, slick, serpent heads, staring down at her like giant observing a simple ant. This serpentine beast that held the mousey girl in their hand was unmistakable a Hydra. The girl couldn’t see the Hydra completely from where she was standing but she figured this beast was the pirate captain of the grand ship floating above the clouds, given the centre head sported a large captain’s hat while the left one had a smaller pirate hat and the right one wore a bandana. “She’s looking at us.” Spoke the right one. “Who are you?” asked loudly the middle head.

“My name is Fiona.” The mousey girl answered, getting on her feet.

“And where’d you come from?” barked the left one, glaring at her suspiciously.

“Oh uh... It’s a bit of a long story, I’m from a small kingdom, it has a bit of a tyrant problem. But I left and now I’m traveling.”

“Long story?”

“That’s the short version.” Fiona corrected.

“What should we do?” asked the Left.

“I say we make her work for us!” recommended the Right.

“Yes, work for us, I like that.” nodded the Center.

“Work?” protested the Left, “But she’s a traveller, we can’t interrupt her journ-“

“Dammit! If we wanted your opinion, we would have asked for it, now shut up!”

“Yeah!”

“Umm...” Interrupted Fiona, “Not to be rude but I don’t really want to be part of crew. How about you just drop me off by the nearest town and I’ll pretend like none of this ever happened. Okay?”

The center head thought about this for a moment, scratching her chin with her scally, clawed finger. “Nah,” she responded, shaking her head, dropping her captive onto the wooden floor. Fiona yelled the whole way down. “You’re under our rule now, little girl,” announced the Captain, chuckling menacingly, her right-head Pirate smiling mischievously.

Fiona got to her feet and dust herself off, staring up at the giant snake-like beast towering before her. She cursed under her breath, she was hoping she didn’t have to deal with the Hydra. It’s not like this is the first time she had to deal with giant, mythological beasts, although it would have been nice to avoid confronting at least one.

“Alright, so let’s start with introductions. I’m Gina, your head Captain.” Introduced the center head, Gina.

“And I’m the second-in-charge, Tina,” Responded the right head, Tina.

“And I’m the-“

“No,” interrupted Gina, “Don’t give yourself a false title, you’re just Rita, nothing else.”

“But-“

“But what?” Gina asked, staring down at her sister, “WHAT?”

Rita stared back a bit before backing down and looking at the ground, “nothing...”

“Damn right nothing. Alright, you, Fifi,” Gina started, lowering herself to have a closer conversation with Fiona.

“It’s Fiona,” she corrected.

“Who cares, I like Fifi. Tell me, what are your specialties?” Gina asked curiously, Tina staring with curiosity as well.

“I... specialize in food!” Fiona said, smiling.

“Hmm, what do you mean by food?” asked Gina.

“Practically anything related to it.” Clarified Fiona.

“Can you cook?” Tina asked.

“Yes.”

“Good?” Rita added.

“uhhh... yeah!” Fiona confirmed. Looking at the three hydra head’s greedy eyes, it seemed like these bickering sisters actually do have one thing in common; eating. She knows how to deal with them.

“Fantastic!” cheered Gina, “And lucky for you, it’s Lunch Time.” Fiona was plucked from the floor and quickly found herself at the kitchen counter inside the air-ship. “Alright, you’re going to make a meal for us, surprise us. And it better be amazing, if it’s even a bit off...”

“We’re throwing out of the ship!” finished Tina.

“Sorry.”

“Don’t apologize, Rita!” Gina scolded, hissing at her menacingly.

“I shall not disappoint,” Fiona reassured, “I’ll be to die for.”

“It better be,” Gina said unaware of the tiny mistress’s foreshadowing words. She turned and left, slithering to the other room, sitting herself down at the table.

Fiona scanned her surroundings, wondering what she could use to make a good meal. She found many meats, grains, powders, liquids and other edible substances one can use to cook, but in the back of one cupboard, she found something extraordinary. A large jar, taller than the mistress herself, filled to the top with a glimmering, greenish sauce. Fiona read the label:

‘Sofrito

The “taste-good” sauce

One spoonful and your meal will taste like it was prepared for a god!’

Fiona grinned as she found her proverbial golden key. She then started to prepare a meaty meal for the awaiting Hydra in the other room. After having boiling in the giant pot, the mousey mistress brought the large Sofrito jar up to a shelf, pushing it near the edge, where the Pot stood below, and began tilting it. She tried to tilt it just enough for some of the sauce to drip out and give the meaty soup below the god-like flavour. Unfortunately for Fiona, the jar tipped too far and fell over, causing the delicious Sofrito to flow out and into the pot. “Nooo!” Fiona yelled before covering her mouth nearly immediately. She can let that Hydra know she has done a mistake, mistakes will get her thrown out of the ship, and getting thrown out of the ship will cause her to fall into the cold hard ground below and that’ll kill her. She guesses. She hoped the Hydra didn’t hear her.

“What was that?” the Hydra called, causing Fiona’s heart to implode within her. Fiona quickly rolled the jar out of view, hoping to hide the evidence of any mistake. The Hydra emerged from the doorway, looking around suspiciously before focusing on the steaming pot of Sofrito-ed meaty soup. “What is this?” Gina asked.

“It’s... meat soup?” Fiona said doubtfully, hoping that the excessive Sofrito will save her life.

Gina grabbed a ladle and scooped up a bit of the soup to taste. Upon sipping a bit of it, her eyes widened in surprise, “Oh my Lord...”

“Is it good?” asked Tina, looking at her sister, awaiting something to happen, “Is it poisoned?”

“No, it’s... Oh, you guys gotta try this.”

The Hydra grabbed a second ladle and shared the soup among the three heads. Fiona watched as the pot was quickly empting and smiled at her success. She crossed her arms and looked over to the hidden Sofrito jar, noticing a label on the back of it. While the Hydra was distracted, she went and got a closer look and found a warning on the back of the jar, reading:

‘WARNING:

Consuming too much will cause one to experience insatiable hunger.

Under no conditions should one overdose near any establishment with large quantities of food.’

Fiona scanned over the warning multiple times, unsure what it meant exactly. Suddenly the pot clanked loudly against the table, causing Fiona to turn around quickly. The Hydra had finished the pot and now had a crazed look in their eyes. She had drank and eaten the whole pot clean and it showed. Bellow her pirate coat, which was spotless despite her having devour a whole pot of meat and Sofrito, her gut had grown outward, straining the buttons on the coat, a low gurgle emitting from it as if it were begging for more food. “What the-”

“Make more food!!” The three heads barked at the same time, giving the Hydra a nearly demonic voice. Fiona was going to answer but Tina cut her saying, “I can’t wait for her to cook! There must be more food around her!” The other heads agree and the Hydra begin ransacking the kitchen, grabbing anything in a jar, or box or wrapping and devouring completely, tossing the empty case behind her. Her gut was working overtime in order to contain the sudden rush of food flowing with in, expanding and straining against the fabric of the Captain’s coat, the coat tightening its grip on the growing orb of scales beneath it as the buttons struggled to hold on.

Fiona witnessed this spectacle act of greed and gluttony for a few minutes before realizing that her presence was no longer needed. She turned and leapt off the counter and made her way out on to deck and up to the cruise controls.

Unlike typical pirate ships, the maneuverer control was not a wheel but a set of levers and cranks, all thankfully labelled for any noob to grasp the controls quickly. Apparently Fiona isn’t only non-hydra to man the ship. Pulling a lever, she lowered the ship beneath the clouds to get a better view of the valley below. The valley is very diverse composing of various ecosystems located near towering mountains. To her right was a large dark mountain with a large castle like structure that seem to grow from it, and to her left was a snowy mountain range, spreading far back. And off at a distance, she could see it. Near a sprawling forest that completely surrounded it, was a marvellous kingdom, one none have seen before, mostly ignored for its small size, it was Fiona’s home. She pulled some cranks and levers and got the ship moving towards the kingdom, thankfully the wind was on her side as it helped push the ship forward faster. She could feel breeze brush her hair, though it kind of put in her face, but turning around made whole ordeal much more pleasant and romantic. She spread her arms and thought that this must be what flying must feel like, what feeling so free must feel like.

This feeling was short lived when suddenly loud, hard knockings came from the door down at the deck. She could only guess who it could be. Fiona peeked over to look at the door, just in time to see it get knocked down, with the Hydra on the opposing end. Gina stared at Fiona with crazed eyes, gritting her teeth.  “YOU!!!” she yelled, anger and fury practically dripping from her words. She started to drag herself through the door way, and for a very obvious reason. After Fiona had left, the Hydra had grown much larger, her gut now expanded into a monument of the intense gluttony that the Sofrito had brought upon the snake-beast. The coat that the Hydra once worn proudly was long gone, leaving her drag her naked body out the door. (though honestly she just looked like a snake, not big deal). The other two heads were kind of sickly looking, they hanged their heads low, moaning in discomfort as the enormous gut dragged through the floor.

“Gina... pleeeaaase...” Tina moaned uncomfortably, nearly dragging her chin across the floor, “stop, its hurting the”-GROOOAAN-“ugh... th-the belly”

“NO!”
“Come on Gina,” moaned Rita, “I feel like I’m gonna expl-oooh” GROOOOAAAN.

“I WILL NOT GIVE UP UNTIL I GET THAT CONIVING, THEIVING MOU-hurk!” she felt something pulling her back, cutting her in the middle of the sentence. She looked back to see what held before realizing the problem. He grand orb of a belly, stuffed with everything the Hydra could find in the kitchen, protesting loudly with groans each time she dragged it across, creaking ominously under the immense pressure within it, had caught itself wedged between the frames of the door.

“Oh dear, you’re stuck.” commented Fiona, a bit pleased that the enraged Hydra is unable to catch her. She looked over to the horizon to see that her destination was almost below. She began preparing by collecting a nearby rag to use as a parachute.  She figured that if what she thought was going will happen soon, then she shouldn’t be on the ship for it. She then heard a loud deep noise sound, as if wooden planks were bending beyond its limit, but upon looking over to the Hydra, she saw what was really causing the noise.

The boards that kept the Hydra pinned down showed no signs of giving in, that didn’t stop Gina from grabbing onto the floor and pull herself out, causing the gut to push against the frames, squeezing the already overblown gut tighter than it should be.

“Gah! Crap, Gina, quit pulling! You’re gonna blow us up!” cursed Tina angrily,

“NO! I MUST GET HER!” roared Gina angrily.

“But I feel like I’m ready to pop!” whined Rita.

“I DON’T CARE! I’M GONNA MAKE THAT MOUSE PAY FOR DOING THIS TOO US, AT ANY COST NECESSARY!” proclaimed Gina foolishly, putting her hands on both sides of the frame, her tailed poised to push against the groaning, reddening orb with all its might.

“Including EXPLODING?!?”
“YES! IF IT MUST COME TO THAT, I’LL BLOW US ALL UP TOGETHER!!!” Gina yelled.

“Actually, you’re going to be on your own for that.” Corrected Fiona, standing at the edge of the ship with her rag ready, “My stop is here, so this is where I’ll get off. So I bid you, Gina, adieu.” And with a wave of the hand and a flip of a bird, Fiona jumped off and descended her way down to her kingdom, using the rag successfully as a makeshift parachute.

“NO!”

“Gina, don’t! She’s gone, there’s nothing else to do!”

“Please, Gina, we’re begging you let it go.”

“NEVER!!” she yelled as she pushed herself, sending herself, and everything inside of her, forward, pushing gut outward one final inch. Tina and Rita, braced themselves for the inevitable, as Gina roared one final time before they all disappeared in a thunderous explosion that wiped out nearly the whole top half of the ship. In a chain-reaction from the explosion caused by the hydra, the mechanisms inside the ship exploded as well, annihilating the entire floating Pirate ship in a giant ball of fire.

The shock of the explosion sent Fiona, who had been floating like a leaf off a tree, off balance, causing her to fall helplessly towards the kingdom below, leaving at the mercy of gravity of the blowing winds of the explosion.

In cases like this, few survive

If I have to be honest ... a little sympathy for the hydra. Not only that saved the lives of Fiona, it's still "offered" her to return home. Besides, it is rather mouse mistress to be more hellish than the mythical beast.

Yesh, true. It seems like Fiona is developing a nasty habit of popping any beast she meets.
