Description Edit: Cleaned it up a little in Photoshop and straightened out the bg.

Original tegaki sketch - [link]

---

I had this idea for the longest time ever since I laid eyes on Phoenix Wright.

That dude's hair reminded me of the art deco-style eagle wing reliefs you can find on high-rise buildings in New York.

I swear you could just swap the eagle heads for Phoenix and it'd still work!

Update: Looks even better than before! Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if those buildings has something to do with Phoenix's hair design.

As everyone has been saying ... your Tegaki's are quite impressive. Not only because they look really nice but because of the limitations of what you are working with.

"I swear you could just swap the eagle heads for Phoenix and it'd still work!"

Like THIS?

Much appreciated, as I'm always feeling the need to do complex tegakis. One look at the Japanese tegaki board and I'm practically OTL-ing.

[*looks at link* PFFFFFFFFFFT LOL~! I love you for that.]

Yeah, the japanese tegaki has a much higher percentage of awesome that's for sure ... but there are still a few, including yourself, that sprinkle some much needed awesome on the english tegaki.

- Glad that you enjoyed my edit, lol. You were pretty much begging for it with that comment.

AKSJHFD H-HOW DO YOU DO THIS IN TEGAKI? Oh man. So phenomenal.

Since you asked nicely, this should do the explaining for me - [link]

Zooming in helps a lot, as well as being patient enough to cover wide areas with a tinyass brush because there's no pressure sensitivity on Tegaki.

Who! Oh man, did you post this for me?! Er, not to be egotistical; just that it would be like, so incredibly nice of you! ;; Thank you so much! It's great to see your progress!

Oh man, um, at the danger of exposing my ass for the dumb it is; how are you zooming in?

Excellent work again, hon!

axl99 In reply to HamletMachine [2009-05-13 16:34:31 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I did it just for you <3.

Tegaki has this horrible tendency to go down at odd times of the day so I kept having to screencap at every stage. Lord knows how many times I've GWARRR'd over lost tegakis.

When you're drawing on the canvas you can right click and hit zoom, it's a little finicky on where exactly you're zooming but you get used to it after a while.

Other times on FireFox I like to hit CTRL + so I can zoom in much closer. Hitting CTRL 0 reverts back to the original viewing size. Just like Photoshop XD!
