Let's gotta try something I haven't done for a long timeEven if I will totally fail ...
But anyways, here's my entry picture for Iduna-Haya 's Draw Your OC Contest [open] Contest/Challenge! Draw your OC
Edit 20/3: More prizes added! Also, 2nd and 3rd prize have been unlocked!

So far all questions I got were answered in the journal
I've hit some pretty awesome milestones in the past couple of months! Both on DA and on other accounts on the big WWW. So I've decided it's time for a party!
Although I am hosting this to celebrate some personal milestones, I also want to use this as an opportunity to thank and involve the DA community at large. So I will be combining this contest with something I had in mind for a community challenge.&
As the topic said. You may draw a picture of your own character doing something. Anything what comes to your mind.
And sure, I took my Character for this competition.
About my character here's the image link with the full description and bio of her:
I know it's quite outdated though. Haven't updated her bio for a long time
I did out of the fun a little class change of my character having a job as white mage using healing magic
Here's the first picture of her I did.
So here we go. I tried it.
Reference I used is this one: Sailor Staff Weapon 70
And inspired by Rittik-Designs 's creations of staves, acessories and other magical stuff I created a staff with some details which resembles my character.

It's mostly the way how they judge a picture.
Often they lead their fellow group members to decide which picture is the best. And all of them are choosing the best looking piece.
So that means, if yours doesn't look good enough so you have no chance to win. Also the diversity between art beginners and professionals is what makes me sad.
If I see that a professional artist participate a contest I won't join because I know I won't win

Schön wär's. Aber mit einem 3D-Modeling Programm wie Blender habe ich keinerlei Erfahrung. Also mache ich es mir auf anderen Wegen
Ohh, der Stab. Da habe ich mich von Rittik-Designs inspirieren lassen. Sie hat sehr schön gestaltete Items, Waffen und andere Fantasy-Sachen ^^

Ja Blender ist finde ich ziemlich kompliziert xD (Mein Freund hat einen Minion für sein Studium Programmieren müssen und er meinte das es geht wenn man sich reingefunden hat >.>) Ich wollte es mal ausprobieren aber hab selbst mit Tutorials net durchgeblickt x'D
Ahhh sollte ich mir vielleicht auch mal anschauen ^.^ Bei Waffen tue ich mir sehr hart ^^'

Ich will jetzt nichts Falsches sagen. Aber ich denke, dass Blender auch benutzerfreundlich ist. Vorausgesetzt - wie du es schon gesagt hast - wenn man sich reingefunden hat
Bei Rittik kann man Verschiedenes haben. Entweder du kaufst von ihr eine Waffe oder du lässt eins von ihr gestalten
Auch gibt es Freie Bilder von ihr, die du als Referenz nehmen darfst

Du, wenn ich dich beruhigen kann, ich habe in den ersten 3 Monaten, die ich GIMP so die ersten Male benutzt habe, sehr oft geflucht. Vielleicht, weil ich auch mich so blöd angestellt habe

Dito xD Hab ja zuerst auch nur mit Gimp gearbeitet, bin aber dann umgesprungen weil Clip-Studio einfach super für das Zeichnen von Comics und Mangas geeignet ist x3 (Und weil ich kein Paint Tool Sai wollte xD)
Jup sind manchmal richtig schicke Sachen dabei

Ist Clip Studio so einfach zu handhaben? Ich habe das schon des Öfteren gehört
Ich weiß auch nicht. Mag sein, dass SAI gut ist. Aber mittlerweile finde ich dieses Programm überbewertet

Ich liebe halt den Stabilisator ^.^ Der macht einem das Lineart deutlich leichter U_U
Da es aber teurer ist als Sai, würde ich einfach warten bis es im Sale ist
Ja probiers einfach aus und wenn ich mal mitbekomme das es im Sale ist und du willst es haben geb ich dir bescheid
Ich finde SAI auch überbewertet... Weil ich wie gesagt CSP einfach viel besser finde >.>

Ich muss zugeben, ich habe, wie ich studiert habe, immer noch meine Studentenversion von Adobe Creative Suite CS 6 (hat Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
600 € hat es gekostet und ich kann es nach wie vor nutzen aber .... ich weiß nicht, warum ich es nicht nutze
irgendwie komisch, dass ich so viel Geld ausgegeben habe und ich die Programme nicht benutze

Gut da geb ich dir recht... Photoshop ist halt doch nochmal ne andere Hausmarke... Immerhin werden Profis in das Programm ja sogar erst eingewiesen. So einen Luxus haben wir leider nicht >.> Und Tutorials auf YouTube helfen manchmal auch nur bedingt... Ich selber mach aber mein Lineart nicht mit Pfadtool, außer bei bestimmten Sachen wie z.B. Teile von Waffen. Ich mach alles immer Freihand... Jede einzelne Linie, bis die Linie passt.... Daher mag ich Lineart auch nicht besonders xD Ich brauche immer ewig dafür x3
Och ich finde das gar net schlecht! Das Lineart sieht doch ordentlich aus! Aber klar... mit einem neuen/fremden Programm fühlt man sich immer wie ein Noob xD

Ich muss zugeben, die Lineart habe ich auch erst mit GIMP gemacht und später mit Photoshop coloriert.
GIMP kann auch Dateien mit den einzelnen Ebenen auch als PSD für Photoshop speichern. Recht praktisch. Aber dafür kann GIMP keine PSD-Dateien lesen. Das ist der Nachteil

Das einzige was halt viel besser mit Photoshop ist, sind Effekte sämtlicher Art... Da kann Clip Studio bei weitem nicht mithalten... Und Gimp ist ziemlich kompliziert wenn wann versucht Methoden aus Photoshop zu übernehmen :/
Ah davon hatte ich gehört! Manche nennen Gimp ja auch den "kleinen Bruder" von Photoshop... Ist auf jedenfall was dran x3
Mein Freund sagte mal das man mit Gimp alles machen kann wie in PS auch wenn man sich damit auskennt und die nötigen add-ons drauflädt >.>

Das Gleiche kann ich auch sagen. Ich bin mit meinem GIMP sehr zufrieden damit
Stimmt auch. GIMP ist eine super Alternative zu Photoshop.
Zugegeben, man kann auch mit GIMP die volle Ladung an Effekten machen

I love the way you drew starlet once more.
She looks still as amazing as always and it's still so recognizeable as your style
I reall love the clothing she is wearing as contrast to her green colors
I also like the lil bit of changes of her
I especially love the way you did the staff , it looks all glowy and pretty and sparkly
I wonder though why she is using her magic, who is she healing , why is she healing etc.. so many questions pop up in my mind
so mysterious... that I love it to bits

These are good questions you've given. Her job is to keep her allies alive with her healing magic. But also the White Mages are known for being the protector - not only for some people.
But overall I wanted to try this out. I'm so happy that you like this picture so much!
