shot during the 3 weeks of me wanting to collaborate with others and come up with really interesting potraits. this is R.S. i met him in advertising, he was the assistant director and i was the art director for a really long and tiring project. first vibes i got from him were powerful and electric. he's an awesome and hillarious guy. i was telling him for almost a year that i wanted to take a potrait of him. well here it is.the acting director finally got directions on how to act

nope it's all studio, i made him pose on a huge black plexiglass thingamajig we had there..i raised it up by about 3 feet so that the red light in the back would have a sharp line running through the entire image

The angle, the pose, the colors, the clothing and the man's sheer badass ATTITUDE just completely gelled together in this picture. I really, really like the expression on his face and the gleam in his eyes--both intruiging and creepy at the same time.

yeah red's hard because there's a tendency for it to seep through everything and wash out lots of other color. i left the reds on the very back and some softer red and orange as top light. the rest was normal flash
