i drew this about... ooh... 2 months ago, and constantly forgot to submit it! It 'was' going to be my submission piece for this Shaun Tan artists competition that was held here in Perth not too long ago. but as things were, i couldnt find the thing that said where to send it to and i didnt know when by so it ended up just sitting in my sketch book unloved. hence i decided to submit it to DA and see what u guys think of it. it actually took me awhile to draw (being only in pen. i used... 3 types of artliners, a 0.1, a 0.4 and a 10.). im amazed cos usually a pic like this would have required a pencil of me. took me roughly... 2 hours to draw.Related content

whats that ring-type thingy that in the middle? also that machine thats like poking his arm is crazy. i wasnt expecting to see that when i looked at full view.

Good Job. I can see getting it doen in 2 hours theres a lot goingon so everything would be mapping it self. I can see that you used a marker for the black background so that couldn?t take very long everything else is with the cross hatching. Keep it up.

......I hate you for your goodness. You rule too much. This has such a powerful, godly feel to it, maybe its in the fact you crammed so much uber-sweetness into the pic or the fact it just rules supremely. If you were to search for a flaw in this you would be here for the rest of time and still not find anything wrong with it.....

dude, your tecnique is killer, and the anatomy screams James Gleason, in that you have incorporated so much into the frame of the man. hmm i really do admire that style that you have done the flames in, very cool linework, i must try something like this me thinks.

The textures, the detail, the subject matter...! It's damn mindboggling, that's what it is! Grah, this would've won the competition, I'd inject animal tranquilisers in anyone who disagreed...
speaking of which, is that a huge syringe being injected in the person in the pic?? It looks really.... painful.... *is bad with needles* O__O;;; Either way, this is a unique take on religion, and the lines are blended so well to create shading and texture - I commend you!
