Goodbye

I wave goodbye
to all the good times,
when I was young
and I had no crimes.

I wave goodbye,
to the reflection I see,
the changing person I don't want to see.

I tell myself it's going to be okay,
but why should I lie?
I know it's going to be austere
and I know my old self has almost died.

As I walk out the door,
I can't help thinking,
all is about to change,
all is about to change.

I leave my old world behind,
Behind a heavy door,
Chained up and blindfolded.

I will never stop wondering about the next day,
because I know my old world is going away,
that's why I must say goodbye.

My world is gray and I walk alone,
I look back but my home is gone,
I hear people tell me it will be okay,
because they have made it out alive,
but will I?
