I finished him!!!!!! This is a huge surprise for you guys
I have been MIA the past two days because I have been working on this little model of Salmon ^^ I am planning on taking him outside for a photo shoot or making a painted backdrop and entering him in a liberty class ^^ if anyone knows any liberty classes that are model horse friendly, shoot them my way!!This is the first model I have ever painted, so it's a little rough... I had so much fun though! Hopefully I can find some good bases for eirene and peanut and do them too!

Hehe, Thank you so much! It took a while to get his dapples right since the paint was drying so fast, but it was super exciting seeing it come together and look like him ^^ Your design for salmon is so awesome! I felt like he deserved some 3D artwork

How did you manage to do the dapple??
For your first time, it looks reallyyyyy amazing!!

Thank you! The dapples were tricky and time consuming, but basically I laid down the darker grey first, to sorta give a background color. Then, while that grey was still wet, I got a lighter grey and spotted it on where I wanted the dapples. Then I rinsed my brush and with it just slightly damp, I brushed over the 2 damp greys until they sorta blended and looked like dapples ^^ Does that make sense?
It was a challenge but I am really happy with how it came out!

I remember my first Time trying to make some dapples on a model Horse it was.. hard.. very hard xDΒ

Thank you so much!!! The dapples were insanely frustrating XD eventually I figured out that I had to do them spot by spot and had to keep the paint wet as I did them so that they would blend with the darker color behind! It took forever but it was worth it!!
I do love him!! He is just so much fun to paint
