However, though they are well known in the galaxy, and seen just about everywhere, little is known about their home world, save that they come from Zeta Reticuli. Like the Elnore, the Grays maintain a vast archive of information gathered from around the galaxy. In their case, it's scientific and technological data. It is for this reason that they restrict access to their homeworld.
     Origins
    The Grays come from the Ageron Combine, a planetary commonwealth centered around the Zeta Reticuli Star System. Their planet is classified as a “City Planet” (see “city-planet”). The vast majority of the population are the gray aliens. The scientific and technological prowess of the Ageron Combine has led to their homeworld and their home star system being an entirely artificially controlled environment. Because their planet consists of a planet-wide city, their atmosphere is controlled by atmosphere processors that maintain a gas mixture conducive to respiration of most oxygen breathing life forms. Those few life forms that don't breath this type of atmosphere are provided with suitable life support equipment (the Grays believe in taking good care of visitors). The grays are also the only other civilization in the galaxy who know the secret of stellar renewal. Their star is maintained at a healthy state of stellar activity. Grays constantly monitor their star from two outpost space stations, known as “Stellar One” and “Stellar Two”. Solar Station is also the main energy production facility for the entire system. They convert solar energy to electrical power, and wirelessly beam it to all worlds and facilities in their system. The grays restrict access to their homeworld, and will only allow outsiders to visit their planet after they have been issued a special pass. Obtaining such a pass involves a stringent screening process, which is difficult, though not impossible, to pass. The reason for this, is because the grays keep vast archives of scientific and technological information and secrets, many of which are dangerous and destructive. They are extremely careful with this information, and will actively prevent outsiders from gaining access to it without authorization. Service and labor tasks, such as waste management, manufacturing, repair, and general labor are performed through automation. This has allowed the vast majority of the grays to devote themselves to various scholarly and research pursuits. Because of this, they govern themselves though consensus in a general forum led by the Council of Experts, which consists of the leading authorities of all the major scientific disciplines. This governing council concerns itself mostly with overall laws. In terms of discipline within the various scientific and technological disciplines, the grays prefer to let the scholars govern themselves.
    The grays been quite well known to the humans of earth for thousands of years, though humans did not know that the grays were from another planet until the Twentieth Century. There are many varied and conflicting stories about the grays as a result of Earth's “UFO Society”, a subculture of human scholars and enthusiasts who were obsessed with studying what they called the “UFO Phenomenon”. This subculture virtually disappeared after the existence of life outside of Earth's star system was confirmed. Ageron orbits Zeta 1 Reticuli, and is the fourth planet orbiting that star. The second, younger world, simply named Reticulus, was originally a colony from Ageron, but time and genetic diversity has changed the grays on THIS world into a sub-species of the Ageron grays. Both worlds, are beautiful, earth-like planet, but due to the fact that they spend half their time between the two stars, they have little or no polar ice caps, and rarely see truly cold temperatures.
