OMG OMG OMGthis was a monster super crazy BITCH of a project and I worked my ARSE off on it but FINALLY its done!!!
I am very happy with the results and am are be mentally preparing myself for the worst since the pictures I love the most are the ones I'm the least optimistic about XDDDD! Here's hoping you guys like it as much as me though! Also if this is chock full of spelling errors its because I am SO freakin tired but just couldn 't sleep till I finished (since I was "soooo close" 4 hours ago haha)
But yeah king of the fae finally colored! He ended up looking a lil more femme than I wanted but then he's a fairy and we all know what that means *wink wink*

well dear keep in mind we all move at our own pace. For example there are people who have only been drawing 4 or 5 years who are better than me who has been drawing anime alone more than twice as long. Strive for the future and work to better yourself, not to make yourself better than others ^^ That way you can always look back and see where you have come ne?

I guess I didn't word the stuff the way I actually meant it. What I meant was that when I'm drawing and I have moments where I feel like "Oh this sucks why do I even bother" and I get envious of people I devwatch, I remember that it takes time and effort to improve, and in time I'll improve as well, and that those people I'm envious of did not wake up one day as brilliant artists, they worked at it over long periods of time.
I guess my previous post sounded kinda like "Ha, in X years I can be waaay better than *insert artist* is now!" or "I'm gonna work hard at improving so that I can get better than *insert artist*" which is -not- what I meant.
Yeah, it's always nice when I find an old drawing I did of a character, and then compare it with a recent drawing of the same character, and see how I've improved. So then when I feel like I'm just not moving forward, I can go back and see where I've been.

lol I've been drawing for about 2 and a half years, so the 4-year thing wouldn't apply to me. (i know, i know, it's only an example...)
Don't worry, I'm not the type of person who let's that sort of thing discourage me. (well except for during those low moments that everyone gets now and then)
Like my friend's sister just finished 6th grade, she's been drawing for about a year, and she's better than I was when I had finished 8th grade and had been drawing for a year and a half. So she's years younger and improves faster, but instead of getting discouraged, I think "Wow, I can't wait to see what she'll be doing a year from now!"

I love the turtle and the fae. Looks like a box turtle judging from the red eyes (since that's the only species I know that does have red eyes in the male.)

^^ I'm glad it doesnt look exactly the same as my usual work. I feel like if I get too comfortable with one look to my art I'll never get better. So even though I like my solid cel stuff I really try to get a little variation once in a while. Happy it worked
