Description
Really not sure what category to use here. This photograph was taken in the Great Library in the Plantin-Moretus Museum in Antwerp; the wooden bust is Flemish, from the 18th or possibly 19th century. The books in the background include a copy of almost every book printed at the Plantin press during its 300-year life, as well as many other valuable tomes... they are bound in leather or (the white ones) with parchment.

i forgot to mention that the bust - and the library - has of course been features in many books and magazines; I seem to remember a magazine used this photo once, too.

Wow! How did it feel to be surrounded by all that history? Did you look at any of the books?

I couldn't look at the books in the library, as it was fenced off, but they did have a lot of books on display. The oldest book I own is from 1530, but I have handled much older books in the past.
I grew up in England, though, in a house that had been renovated in 1572, so history and old, these are very subjective terms

I live in Canada, but yes, grew up in England. I prefer living here but miss the old buildings

Thanks! *waves*
Probably depends on your screen brightness. The room itself was pretty dark though.
