Description
Nayeli was born to a chestnut mare far from where Spirit's herd grazed, she was raised by her mother for two years with her father near to a large lake further North than where most herds would have made their home.Nayeli was always a beautiful mare, adventurous and brave, galloping miles from the herd at times to have the wind in her mane, hear her thundering hooves on the earth, and be able to jump onto a hill and neigh out all her spirit. Occasionally she would stay from her family in the forests which surrounded her sire's territory. Running free from a stallion and being able to enjoy her youth.
However, one day, late in spring, the mare stumbled upon a pair of hoof prints in the soft earth, near to the riverbanks. Nayeli was intrigued at the spoors, she had never seen a pair like this. They didn't match any that she had ever seen before in this land, which made her tingle with excitement. What an adventure it would be to follow a wild stallion.
Therefore, Nayeli took one last look towards the rolling hills where her father grazed his herd, and trotted off down the river, her nose pinned to the ground as she followed the tracks. Her nostrils filling with his distinct scent, trying to pin what he would look like, what colour his hide was, what temperament he possesed.
Suddenly, however, the mare's head flew up, her ears dialled around as she heard footfalls around her. Hooves trotting over the leaf-litter, occasional squeals or neighs. Nayeli shivered with excitement and reared up onto her hind legs, she looked around anxiously, that horse must be within feet of her. Suddenly, she felt hot breath on her rump, her eyes jetted to her back but her view could not catch who was behind her.
Nayeli slowly lowered herself onto four hooves, shaking with excitement and fear as she heard the stallion breathing heavily behind her, hear his hooves scraping the earth, and suddenly, a roaring neigh could be heard behind her. The palomino mare swung round, and her eyes met with those of a handsome young colt. His black mane hung loosely off his neck and his fawn hide glimmered in the speckled sunlight from the trees. Nayeli snorted as he extended his muzzle, she was confused, any stallion to catch a mare covered with the scent of another was either turned upon or herded away instantly. However, this stallion showed compassion, friendliness, and his eyes were filled with happiness and joy. So, the mare nuzzled him gently, and with a gentle nip to the ear from the colt, she followed him obediently.
They cantered out of the forest swiftly, and galloping as they came out onto the grassland. Nayeli heard the colt whinny in joy and charge onwards, he was fast, his hooves suddenly becoming almost a distant sound as he thundered ahead of her. The mare whinnied in joy as he turned his head and called her, she kicked her heels up gaily, and followed him to a large bluff on a hillside, which overlooked a small herd of assorted mares, headed by a beautiful strong black stallion. The father of the colt.
The stallion looked up suddenly as he saw his buckskin son on the hillside, he neighed sweetly to his flank, raising the head of a beautiful palomino mare, she smiled gently and snorted. Calling her colt from the hill and nuzzling him and the young mare as they came to her hooves,
"Where have you been, my son," she nuzzled him again, harder, around the ears. "And who is your filly?" She asked.

Nice story.
But, two things. I need a link to a screenshot of the scene where she appears in the movie included in the description. Also, Spirit can't be listed as her mate. That is Rain's privilege. She can, however, be Spirit's childhood friend. Or childhood crush, if you wish. It's up to you.

This isn't from the movie, just the character, she is one of the palominos in Spirit's herd. I wrote the background story.
