Description
I chased the storm all around the hills from dusk to late night. It was being pushed by winds along an everchanging path, so everytime I could find a good panoramic spot, it had just changed direction and i could not take shots the way I wanted. Moreover, most of lightning was happening above the visible layer of clouds: the whole sky was illuminated by a diffuse violet light, a cool scene to look at, but not good for taking pics. Finally, a strong wind started blowing on my area, bringing the storm just above my head. I could take a few pics; a few minutes later i took this one, rain began to pour.Winner of =onewordphoto 's STORM contest .

wow, i believe that it's really hard to capture the lightning, i never tried, but sometimes ... the problem is, that i've no wonderful places for taking similiar pictures over here my region is nearly totally flat

thank you... it is mainly a matter of patience and experimenting. you can consider shooting in the flatlands, it won't be that different.
thank you for the also.

Lightning is not an easy thing to catch on camera; you need timing and luck.

Cool picture! My sister's managed to take a few such amazing photos by using the "video-function" (don't know the right expression) of her camera.
I think you were brave (or just a bit adventurous?), cause the lightning might have hit you. Please take care of yourself

One never does until it happens otherwise there never would be any accident (what about this girl who jumped again?)

jumping again was just accurately searching for troubles... you serach and find...

And you think going out into a thunderstorm is something completely different? Okay, the chances of surviving are better, I admit.
This reminds me of something: Someone in my family has managed to get himself roasted by accidentally throwing a fishing line over a high voltage lead.

yes i think it's different. and i would take precautions if lightnings were hitting the ground too much near me

an astounding capture! ... isn't it amazing how the winds manage to push us along everchanging paths, just by whatever it is that is holding our attention?

hm. it depends on the plan you take in consideration, i think. it is true that winds pushed me everywhere, together with the storm, but it's also true that i was pursuing a goal, and in that the wind was just an accident. let's say that i had to follow an everchanging path to reach my goal, which did not change at the least.
