the only thing that confuses me is when you say, "Blend out layer" is that a filter tool like gaussian blur or what, its just got me stuck.

Baro In reply to DragonBreath75 [2010-01-31 21:01:04 +0000 UTC]

no it means: disable the layer so you can't see it.

i love this tutorial but one thing doesn't make sence to me. "Now select the layers opacy by holding down ctrl and clicking on the "ring" layer in the layers windows.
How i can select the opacy? I can change the opacy % but i can't select it. I hold ctrl down and

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Baro In reply to Extenderi [2007-05-27 14:38:54 +0000 UTC]

Thx. By "select the opacy" i mean selecting all the pixels a layer fills in. The special thing about this in photoshop is that, if a pixel is filled with a color that doesn't have 100% opacy you select it with the very same opacy that pixel has in that layer. say you have a layer that is completely red, but you can still see other stuff from layers beneath, through it. Then you select the opacy of the layer by crtl+klick and fill the selection with another color in an empty layer. that color will also be seethrough. thats why i talk about selecting the opacy. hope i could help.
