Looks like AJ is dressed up for a night on the town with some friends. Not fancy enough for a date, but nowhere near work clothes either.

Well that could be her equivalent of "formal" work attire, such as if she's planning to negotiate a deal with a new client or the like and wants to make a good impression while still looking the part of the business she's representing. At least, that's my take, for what it's worth.

Might be amusing to see a story or even a scene where AJ invites Rarity along on such an occasion. Rarity expects this to be a disaster, only for Applejack to handle the whole thing very smoothly.
