Description
I've been working on chairs for awhile (I need something cool for L to perch on). I liked this morphed version of the Louis XV armchair so much, that I put "GothBot" in it and experimented with some effects in photoshop. lol. -^Related content

Thanks. I had a nutty idea for a series of parody GothBot mini-advertisements, but I don't know if I'll get around to doing it.

Thanks. The texture I used for the chair is purple leather, so maybe it's not so soft? -^

I liked the gold with the black for his outfit, but then that left the question of what color to use for the chair? -- Purple! Since yellow and purple are complimentary colors, it works out nicely.

For some reason, I noticed a lot of people seem to like Goth style and the rather few I've posted in my gallery got a lot of attention. There is something about Goth...

LOL looks just like David Bowie - I guess he was more famous in Japan than I thought.

I think he was influential in Japan, but so was the all the 80s hair bands. lol. But Visual Kei is more creative, imho.
btw, Gothic Lolita was born in Visual Kei. It was Mana who came up with the look: [link] )

The article claims that Mana "helped popularizing Gothic Lolita style in Japan", not that she created the style itself. I believe Gothic Lolitas originated hundreds of years ago in France.

*teehee* Mana is a dude. -^
My theory is Lolita's roots are in the 80s (Strawberry Switchblade? [link] ), but Mana put a new spin on it by combining it with a Victorian funeral wear to get Gothic Lolita, ...and it looks way classier, and cooler!

Hehe I never thought about who invented the GL style. But back to the original subject, David Bowie was the 1st one I ever saw dressing like what the Japanese now call their own style - and that was in the 1960s. And then there were a lot of imitators everywhere. ^^

I keep thinking there's this is bizarre cross-pollenation going on...
For instance - KISS gets an idea for what would become their famous "KISS look" based Japanese Kabuki.
80s Hair Bands like Motley Crew do their own version of the KISS look, updating it for the 80s and adding other influences.
X-Japan takes the Motley Crew and KISS looks and makes their own version which starts the Visual Kei movement in Japan.
Visual Kei becomes huge outside of Japan in Y2ks and is starting a new fashion movement in Europe, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and the USA.
.... or something like that. -^

Oh yes, I have mentioned this full circle of influences between Japan and other countries in my article about "Sci-fi is everywhere" at my personal website. Take a look [link] just scroll down to the last item #22 and see how Gundam has been played on Japanese TV for a quarter century thanks to... George Lucas!
