I don't much like to fiddle with Maya when I'm not at work, but I do want to get better at the program.Unfortunately it only runs on the ancient desktop... and the ancient desktop can no longer handle the polycount of the head. Which, considering it's not THAT high res... yeah. :/ Frustrating! Doing the UVs is out of the question with how slow it's running.
Maya just doesn't like my laptop, which is way more powerful... so I'll either have to switch to Max, which runs fine on the desktop, or work on it at work after hours- which I don't want to do.

...no one can blame you for being apprehensive about working with something so inconvenient ANNNNNNND working AT WORK after working hours - that's the equivalent of grade school detention DURING THE SUMMER for us adult types...
...anyway, the time and effort will all be well spent and the end result will be proficiency which will come in useful for related projects in the future...so fiddle away, lady...and before you know it, a much better program will enter the picture soon enough...

I spent some time on comparising EjSu's and your pic, to figure out what way they differ... couldn't tell, but surely I see your 'imprints' on this pic.
