Description *edited to add* I am 5 ft 8 inches and 135-55 lbs.

This is my tummy.

I've had a couple of surgeries, one that was major, and two minor ones when I was a teenager. One for a 5.5 lb ovarian cyst in which I lost one whole ovary(It's okay, i wasn't planning on using it anyway!), and another for a twisted blood vessel(the smaller scar). I also had a breast reduction at 18, I was previously a 34 DDD.

The scars for a long time were very very prominent and sometimes painful, especially the scars on my breasts. My husband didn't care, but I was sort of fascinated/horrified by them.

That all was about 10 years ago now and the scars are quite faded. The emotional scars from high school are fading too, finally. It wasn't that I had such a bad time now that I look back, but it sure felt like a horrible time. I'm suprised that I survived considering the degree of depression I was dealing with.

Anyway, I was taking pictures of my temporary blonde-ness and saw that the scars were very faded now and wanted to snap a quick pic. Plus I want photographic evidence that I was one thin and svelt when I'm 70- provided the world has not exploded by that point. And if you want to ask me about the reduction, please feel free to. I think it was the best thing I have ever done and I've never regretted it, and I'm not embarrassed about it. If I can manage it, I might take photos sometime... but that's a bit more personal than my tummy. XD

BOY MY GALLERY GETS WEIRDER EVERY DAY DOESN'T IT? D:

I don't mind the scars so much anymore, although they still hurt from time to time. :S

XD thanks~~ it means I'm at a higher risk for heart disease and osteoporosis among a host of other things! I struggle to maintain a healthy weight, I'm prone to actually being underweight and that's why I'm always posting that I feel sick... it's usually when my weight and blood pressure drops. :S I should fill out when I hit 40, that's what my mom did. X3

You know a nice belly tattoo would have been the way I would have went. The only kinda scar a tattoo can't cover is the emotional kind. It doesn't look bad, it's a slight pale red.

I also had an ex-girlfriend who had her breasts reduced. For a long time she thought I might like her less if she went through with it. After we went our seperate ways she got it done. I was there for emotional support. Anyways, I was glad cause they made it hard for her to breathe when she laid down to sleep and all joking aside gave her a back pains. Good decision on her part.

My father has a scar from his chest all the way down to his waist from having triple bypass done twice. The doctors fucked up the first time, it was horrible.

Ugh~ Sorry about your father! That's awful! The reason i didn't get a tattoo, besides being a bit chicken, is that if I ever got pregnant the tattoo would get stretched to hell. While I don't plan on ever having kids, accidents happen even to the most careful people. the funniest thing I've heard about the scar is my second youngest nephew accused me of not having a belly button. I should have told him I was an alien.

My mom is too! Weirdly my mom and my grandmother(who we are not biologically related to, my mom's adopted) all have the exact same scar on our stomachs.

thank you! I hope it helps other people to realize that you are who you are and you will always have you. Everything else is transient and will fade away. Better to start enjoying who you are now than later.

Thanks! I just got to the point in my life that I didn't care. XD Also I think the fact that D loves me unconditionally is what really made me get over the insecurities I've always felt about my body and my face and myself in general.
