Description
This was an Easter illustration I did of a brooding giganoraptor. Gigantoraptor is one of the largest oviraptorosaurs known- rivaling t-rex in size, but it’s important to note that many of the few known specimens are found on top of nests of eggs. In the past, these eggs were interpreted as belonging to other dinosaurs, but it’s now known that these were indeed oviraptorosaur eggs. Based on this evidence, in combination with their desert environment, it appears that these animals were tragically buried alive during sand storms, refusing to leave their eggs exposed to the elements.
