Um, not to be rude or anything, but you spelled "rite" wrong. In this context, it should be spelled "right" because a "rite" is a religious or other solemn ceremony/act. Sorry to point that out, but bad spelling and grammar has been known to ruin otherwise great comics.

I agree that "right" seems to be the intended word, based on the context.
Either way, the author will know what they meant.

No material about the show supports your first reason, so definition #2 is out.
Worship is defined as showing reverence to a deity, and Celestia and Luna are confirmed to NOT be deities. Their subjects do bow down, but it is more like bowing down to royalty rather than a deity. Therefore, definition #4 is out.
That last line you said contradicts what you're trying to get at. To quote: "could be argued that right to the throne is a customary observance or practice". Therefore, definition #6 is out.
I did a bit more research. The correct usage in this situation is not "rite" and really is indeed "right". Especially since "rite" is, going by the definitions you've given, wouldn't qualify in this situation.
