Description
A freelance piece for my newest job. Yeah, the third one I'd mentioned.Done in a style I dont usually employ, for that matter. I'm... not sure I'd like to incorporate pencil shading into my own work yet. I'd need to see what happens to it when I multiply the layer in Photoshop and color it.
And now... The happy dance.
*HAPPY DANCE!*

ive got to say it is nicely done but is it hygienicaly acceptable to stuff his beard into his arm pits. even for a messy dwarf that must look wrong. otherwise this is real good

I really love the piece and the subtle shading VERY nice indeed
However, if I may be so bold as to give a few tips on the knotting.. always remember.. up. down, up, down, up, down. It may sound like whining, and perhaps it is, but the design on the hammer has multiple ups and only one or two downs, when they normally go up and down and up and down. To make designs look more celtic/pictish I'd suggest following that. The anvil looks more chinese (but not less breathtaking ofcourse), then european.
That would be my only tip But that's just a minor detail to a piece that does very well on itself
It's just a tip for the future.. this piece is stunning

hehey, thanks! I'm glad you like the work. And as for the knotting instuctional, dont worry about sounding too harsh or nuthin'. Its informational, and for whatever I noticed about knottowork before, however obvious or obscure the specific details, this makes it all the more solid in my mind as how to propperly go about making knottwork. Your Kung Fu is greatest, Celtic Sensei.
Its all good! :3
And sorry for taking awhile to get back to you like this. I'm in the process of a major balancing act here at school so some days get more nuts than others. X3
A grand day to you!

Hey no worries! I'm always a bit hesitant when it comes down to giving someone tips&tricks, since some people tend to get offended thinking you don't like th picture they drew, which is not true.
Hope school works out for you and things will turn back to more peaceful turnings
