splatling mains are some of the chillest people I know, tbh

anyway my friend DEE-fender commissioned me to draw her inkling and her heavy deco! I'm really happy with how it turned out ^^
but HOO BOY was it more involved than I ever expected
surprisingly the hard part wasn't the ink tank, but rather the gun barrels, and figuring out how to position and shade them. doing the bedazzles on the ink tank actually turned out to be very zen

you might be wondering if I did each rhinestone by hand
and the answer is...yes and no
picture me with my Switch 5 inches from my face, using my tablet pen to count out how many rhinestones were in a single column so I could figure out how the pattern was arranged
then drawing one column, copying it over a few times, and warping it for perspective
but it looked very flat that way, so I drew the highlights, dark parts, and shadows cast by each stone by hand! (one stroke per highlight, dark bit, and shadow)
(I just couldn't get the perspective warp to work for them)
it went faster than you might think, though

all in all, I spent about 14-15 hours on this piece, but about 11 of them were on the splatling alone
but I think it really paid off in the end!
