Description The theme for Capricon 31 was Escape! Basically, we could no-longer remain on this planet and had to evacuate into space ships. So as my big piece, I decided to do a solar system.

Instead of a traditional black background, I chose a glass that had a swirling deep purple/violet mix. As a contrast, I decided to leave the solder lines, which represent the orbits, a bright silver. Each planet is centered on it's orbit, and I included all 9 planets.

Beautiful! Wonderful concept of the solder lines representing the orbits.

Also, I love you for acknowledging Pluto as a planet.

I knew I would need to break up the background anyhow, so why not make the lines do something useful? I had also planned to represent each planet's axial tilt. But after I did the research, and got them all at the correct angle, I decided it looked...not right.

Of course Pluto is a planet. Always has been, always will be.

I've featured this panel in my journal, [link] I hope that's okay.

I am completely flattered that you would include my solar system in with those other amazing pieces! Thanks!
