So yeah, still stuck in 1920s St Louis....and still a cat, Nighbringer followed a tip about a smuggling ring in an old building. What he didn't realize was that a certain rum-runner getaway driver was following him. Ivy had seen him before. Once risking his life to save people from a burning building and not leaving until all of them were safe and out. And once scarring and brutalizing a meeting of some of the biggest crooks in town, turning their little discussion into a horror show. She didn't know what to think. So, upon spotting his unmistakable form leaping between rooftops, she had to know.
Long story short, it wasn't a smuggling ring. It was a timed bomb. A trap set just for him.
Nightbringer spotted Ivy there as well and saved her life the moment the bomb went off, injuring himself in the blast. Afterwards, as the thugs responsible for the bomb approached to finish the vigilante off, Ivy went full-on Carrie Kelley and dragged the concussed, limping hero out of the rubble. They avoided the thugs as best as they could until Night's car arrived.....on it's own? How?? Did the vigilante have an assistant? Questions for later.
Ivy helped him into the car and entered herself as bullets dinged off the armor. The vigilante brought a small microphone to his mouth, spoke one raspy word "Home", and the car, much to Ivy's surprise, drove the two of them off on it's own.
