Description
These are parodies I made for a Lovecraft inspired story. These are the six Gods of Terminus. They have similar powers as the Old Ones except each one of them has a distinguishable abilities based on there very appearance. They all (except Shrugoff and Y'goolash) have the ability to fly through any atmosphere or no atmosphere. There appearance drives humans to madness and chaotic behavior. The only ones that aren't affected by there appearance are there cultist followers. When they speak they speak like men of old, but in some special situations they have short bursts of modern day vocabulary. For example:
Krt'ahoo: What progress have thou accomplished so far, Cleric. Have thou fulfilled thy end of our deliberation?
Cleric: I so sorry to say but the government found our temple. All of the members have bin arrested and the artifacts you gave us were all confiscated. (replied the Cleric of the Cult. He has never bin so scared in his life).
Krt'ahoo:....... You're kiddin' me, right?!
The Great Krt'ahoo (parody of Cthulhu): Also known as the Destroyer. The ealder of the Chaos Brothers. He is the size of the Empire State Building. He is responsible for the destruction of countless world and solar systems. He now resides in his Island Temple of R'loy, imprisoned and sleeping. In his sleeping state he is able to communicate with more mentally sensitive people. They have formed the Cult of Krt'ahoo. There only purpose is to free him with promises of Eden and prosperity. What they don't know is that the moment he is freed he will destroy everything and continue with his own purpose. He's similar to the Terminator, single-minded and with only his task in his mind. All ways moving forward. If stop, he will be free again, even if it takes millenniums.
Yoh'sodoff (parody of Yog'sothoth): The Eternal hive mind, the younger of the Chaos Brothers, his size varies from being big as a suburban house to being as massive as a metropolis city. Like his brother, Krt'ahoo, Yoh'sodoff was imprisoned as well in an icy cavern in southern Norway. He came to Earth, wounded and weak, on the run from his brother. In his weakened state he was easily defeated and imprisoned in the temple of S'roth in The southern mountains of Norway. Like his name suggests, he is a planer.... a schemer, while Krt'ahoo is more like a weapon with a mind of it's own. He and his brother share a hated rivalry, so strong, that they despise each other. He also has a cult and it's a rival organization to the Krt'ahoo Cult. Brother rivalry spreads farther then imagined.
Y'goolash (parody of Y'golonac): His vast and violent appetite earned him the title of The Devourer. He is as big as the Big Ben in London. He was created by Krt'ahoo as the leader of his armies and he followed him loyal to the Earth. Just like his creator, he was imprisoned in a prison of his own. He resides dormant in stone exactly 3500 kilometers beneath the Earth's surface, waiting for his master to release him. He is a typical soldier whose basic weapon is his savage appetite.
Cl'uhoth (original creation, not a parody): The only female of the deities, she was named The Creator because there a possible rumors that she created a great number of Galaxies (one of them is the Milky Way). She was meant to recreate life after the other Gods of Chaos have done there part in destroying all life. Ironically, unlike the other gods, she is the size of a Chihuahua. She is the only one of Ancients that seems to have a small amount of compassion. Because of her small size, she could easily avoid capture and went into hiding. It's not is she still alive, but she is an immortal like her "colleagues" so the theory of her dieing is dismissed as blasphemy. Where she truly is is unknown, she will reappear when she thinks is right.
Shrugoff (parody of Soggoth): also known as the Shapeless Gurdian because of his undistinguished shape and features. He is a living blob of dark-mater ooze that constantly changes shape and size. The only things that stay the same as they are are the various eyeballs that constantly change place, sink and rise from his oozing body. He was created Yoh'sodoff to be his lapdog and guardian. His tactics is to take shape of parasitic looking life forms that form all over that wall of an ancient place. When an unsuspecting victim arrives he tightens around it and consumes it. No one or nothing can get pass him. After the imprisonment of Yoh'sodoff, Shrugoff lost all will to function because he couldn't think by him self without his master. He now reside scattered by time through out the world in forms of Algae and growth in places untouched by man. Like his master, his size also varies. He is similar to the clone troopers from Star Wars, personality wise. He can think creatively, but is useless with out leadership.
A'zeepot (parody of Azathoth): also know as The Idiot, he is a brainless blob of flesh and tentacle with only instinct in his body to guide him. He has a simple pattern, create life, wait for it to grow then use it as nourishment. That pattern is repeated from the moment he came to life. The reason why he's called The Idiot is because he only know how to exist. If he find a world where life already exists and the first step isn't required, he wasn't able to process the fact that he simple has to sit back and wait for it to be ready for consumption. It's sort of like a mental block that lasts as long as some one doesn't snap you out of it. Poor Krt'ahoo was charged with the task of making sure that doesn't block up. The last time it happen, A'zeepot nearly starved and got sick. He is easily mislead. He was constantly used in the rivalry of the Chaos Brothers. He's is slightly larger then the Earth's Moon. He circles the Earth waiting for ether of the Chaos Brothers to surface so that they can continue there "magical adventure" (like I said, he's easily mislead).
They all have seen and done thing the human mind could never comprehend, just like there appearance, there madness inducing appearance.
Also, please don't fave before you comment! ^ ^ I want opinions!! I thrive on OPINIONS!!!

Really shows how little you know when the Cthulhu parody is OLDER than the Yog-sothoth parody.

Don't worry, I'm just messing with you. With how pop-culture butchered the original stories, I'd honestly be surprised if a casual parody didn't get something wrong.

Speaking of the Cthulhu Mythos, what exactly do you understand them as? That is, what would you say is the best way to describe them? I've asked about a dozen people this question before, and they all had (more or less) unique answers, so I'm curious as to how you interpret the Mythos.

Iβm not talking about the gods in the Mythos! Iβm talking about the underlying themes of the Mythos (i.e. How would you best describe the Mythos). Do you even know what the word βMythosβ refers to?

Soooorry, I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition XDDD
The Cthulhu Mythos or Yog Sothothery is rooted in the fear of the unknown and of our own actually insignificance in this huge universe. It uses these things to terrifies us by literally making us feel said insignificant that, in a way, we already knew about but either suppressed or ignored ever since we learned about the concept of death at a young age.

I've always wondered whether Yog Sototh is equally mighty as Azathoth, though the later is brainless. Is in this version of yours superior?

π: 0 β©: 1
Roseredwrath In reply to bigdad [2011-05-26 01:22:35 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's a roleplaying game with a rather complicated but interesting plot where there were seven evil beings called The Seven Kings of Closetland and corresponded to the seven deadly sins. The Defiler was given a serious redesign and was lust, Baba Yaga was Gluttony, The Boogeyman was Greed, Kabaelza for Sloth (nonexistent in other media), Lamashtu for Wrath, Rael Schol for Envy (Same as Kabaelza), and Titania for pride.
