Aurorus: "I'm bigger than you "Typical boys, always braggin' about how big they are. What's that? You think I'm talking about what? Oh, no no no! I'm talking about big as in tall. Geez guys, get your minds outta the gutters.
Here we have Aurorus picking on Scolipede because he's a bit shorter than the tall dino.
All joking aside, I was a bit dissapointed with this drawing because I wanted more of a ground-view-looking-up sorta like this , but I was unsuccessful.
I was debating scrapping this one, but I decided to instead use it to do more practice on different lighting. I think the darkness fits with the sinister look that Aurorus is giving Scolipede.

The shading is great, and I especially like the slight glow on Aurorus' gems, but I think that his neck could be slightly slimmer at the top, and maybe you could show his jawline to add to the effect of the overhead view. Besides that, I think that just Scolipede's eyes could use a bit of spark or something in them to make it slightly more alive. Your depiction of the pokemon are very accurate, and accuracy is the thing that bugs me the most, so you did a very good job on that. Besides the things that I said could use work, this is an amazing piece of artwork!

I think it's kinda a joke in this case where Aurorus is cocky just cuz he's much bigger. Stat wise he's not really that tough.

Aurorus's size is really the only thing he's got goin' for him. Scolipede would definitely outspeed him. Not sure about that type disadvantage though.

Yeah. Though, I haven't actually interacted with anything related to Pokemon in a while, they can't kill each other. right? Or am I thinking of first gen. I really need to catch up with the games.

Yeah, in the games the Pokemon only faint from battling. The newer games usually try to keep any sort of thing related to death to a minimum (like cemeteries or something). In this specific drawing I depicted my Pokemon having an interaction about size, I didn't intend on a fight coming from it. They're just messin' around.

I mean when I play Pokemon I say "my Pokemon died" because it's much easier than saying fainted. I know that they're not actually dead though.

Oh wow, I thought aurorus was about to battle and beat up scolipede until I read your description of what was happening. I like how you tried out a darker type of lighting in this piece as well as coloring in the light sparkling from aurorus' ice crystals.
If you wanted to show some perspective with a ground-type view, drawing the ground would definitely help show that specific type of perspective. In the link you provided in the description, they drew the ground as well as having it cover most of the lower half of the page to show that's where the viewer's eye level would be if they were in the drawing looking up at the pokemon.
Depicting perspective is difficult, so don't feel bad about not getting it right this time around. I still need to practice a lot with it too.
