Description
Insomnia made something go “pop” in my head early this morning. And then sillyness took hold.I can’t really draw, well nothing real anyhow. It’s all about adding, eyes, teeth, claws and teeth to really basic shapes. Erm something like that. It’s not even supposed to sound that technical. I remember a friend had a HUGE painting of a circle, square and triangle. It was something fundamental, important and somehow related to the Bauhaus movement with reference to Zen or something (okay we’re were at college, substances may have been involved …) Being a non-artist the relevance is a bit lost on me.
But wait, in my monster terms …
Circle = eye,
Triangle = tooth, horn, claw (sometimes wing)
and
Square= body …
… well, that started with avatars – the monsters were to fit into a square, but it’s a happy coincidence.
The monsters were a bit baffled. Most shapes just make them hungry.
Circle = cake,
Triangle = slice of cake,
Square = box of cakes.
Okay a little knowledge is dangerous thing, and hey maybe I’m pseudo-intellectual and proud! ( Also there’s so blurb at the bottom of a web page about colour theory [link] )
So this is my scribble-tribute to something which the average art-design student would probably me able to tell me a few things, to which I say EYE TOOTH BODY!
Fineline pen scribbled in notepad, colour filled in PSP8.

this is great!
like a visual ontology of shapes in characters: tooth, eye, body. triangle, circle, body. very philosophical (being a 'triad' of signs, in line with C.S. Peirce's method of categorising).
If these are the triad what is the 'substance' and 'being' which frame the triad I wonder? Anyway - this work is great!
just wonderful.

Circle = lollipop!
This description reminds me of those "How to draw... X" books that reduced everything to simple shapes. I used to have a lot of those. Maybe still have them somewhere...
