It's a tabletop RPG setting by Whote Wolf, the same guys who made Vampire: the Masquerade, Big Eyes, Small Mouth; and Exalted: whitewolf.wikia.com/wiki/Werewβ¦

Not exactly, for one thing you don't need a grid and only use one kind of dice rather than 12. Really the biggest similarity is that they both convey the majority of their information in book format.
