Description
Just a couple of characters that I've been exploring the anatomy of. I don't know whether I'll ever actually start drawing their stories, but It's still fun to just experiment like this.Related content

Rad! The faces at the top and "hooves" at top right are especially interesting to me You totally should draw their stories! Maybe you should write a story set on one of your planets? Just an idea..

Neither of them are from any of my Project planets; I try to stay away from such humanoid forms, keep it different and interesting.
I'm actually planning on putting the top character in one of my Fanart Fridays, as it's my interpretation of a character/thing that's mentioned but never seen in the show (Doctor Who).
The character on the bottom is part of a huge comic book series that I have planned out but never get around to drawing.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood the question with that last response.
The smaller mouthparts are for manipulation of objects, and the larger ones are for slicing and crushing. There are more, internal components for further processing of consumed items. Such systems are common among Earth arthropods.

So Im guessing they eat some pretty tough stuff.

Well, the one on top was engineered as a bio-synthetic WMD, and the bottom one is just part of a comic-book-like story that I've been working on, so neither really have much natural/Darwinian influence working on them in design or functionality.

I made a similar creature, as in a bio-synthetic WMD:

Exactly! I actually based the design on mantis and locust mouthparts, but the point stands.

I haven't been looking at your gallery for a while now, but I must say I'm loving your new system! Can't wait for Wednesdays especially .
Great character designs btw. They look as though you could even create a
whole planet based around them.
And I don't why I didn't do this before, .

maybe they're explorers, looking around on all the various worlds?
