Lauren? She was my first Imp. I was gifted Darya shortly after, but Lauren was definitely first. MonoChrome was staying at my place that time to help me pack all my things up before moving to his farm. We were running low on food, so naturally I went to buy groceries. On my way back I decided to take a walk on the beach instead of waiting for the bus, and that was the second best choice I've made that day. This part of the beach was very narrow compared to the huge one, always full of people, but it was perfect for walks. As I was heading home, not too fast despite the dark clouds above me, I noticed something climbing up the shore in the distance. Obviously I walked closer and I saw her. Poor little thing, resting on the sand and licking her wound. I think I startled her at first, but she didn't even have enough energy to run. She just lay there, shaking. And then I saw her eyes and everything became clear to me.
I couldn't leave an abandoned, wounded, blind Bay kit to die on that beach. I spent some time with her to get her to trust me, then I picked her up and took her home with me. That was the absolute best choice of that day, if you were wondering. She's not perfect, but she's mine and I love her. Back then all she had was just enough strength to crawl away from the waves. Now she has her own pond and a collection of rocks. She's not the one to fight for my attention like Nuss and Darya do but when she comes over to snuggle, I can't get rid of her. I think that's her way of saying "thank you for saving my life". Imps are really smart, you know. They understand things.
