on haunted hillside
darkest night
the dead rise to life
under pale moon
ghouls and fiends run free
the forest of twisted trees
and howling wind rustling
wilted leaves
plumes of smoke rise
from dancing flames
where the demons play
nameless creatures
the ancient ones
bound of black deeds
thirsting for blood
hungering for souls
dripping pestilence
upon sallow land
leather winged bats descend
and writhing serpents slither
as the earth rumbles and shakes
cracking the ground
lava oozing from it depths
cries of anguish pierce the night
shrieks of hideous laughter
moans of groaning sorrow
fill the sulfurous air
belching from below
the void pierced and
coming to life
on this the darkest of all nights
