I like this.Β It has both good structure and good tones\lighting.
Its been what, an hour or so since I went AFK to 'think' about how to word my thoughts... yeah, this is Me we're talking about.
SO very lost in left field (baseball term, ha)
From tip of her nose up to the bridge, then down to the cheek and its cut, from the rouge at the cheekbone... down to the jawline and back up to the chin.Β The gloss of her lips.Β The pale expanse of the forehead, and the hairline at the temple.
Such crystalline blue eyes.
The overall haggard mien as she appears to absorb the depth of the battlefield around her.Β The calm before the storm, as it were.
Looks like leather armour, wonder what the full display would be like as you see it.Β Hells, wonder what the battle had been like for her.Β You list her as `archer`, but when the arrows run out, and the fighting comes to You, what does she choose?
Lance, or Halberd, or Trident....Flail, War Hammer, or Poniard?Β Buckler and Saber, or Javelin and Kite shield?

Glad you dig it. Thanks so much for your comment. When her arrows run out she uses a short sword and dagger, and really just tries to get the hell out of dodge. Her melee strategy is to get behind combatants like JerrikΒ and Filaani Β or fall back to the mages like Servalia Β or DiΒ , because though she is capable, she is far from the skill level of the enemies forward infantry.Β

first of all, it looks fantastic!
The good:
The colors are really good, the rather pale base color of her skin transitions smoothly from reddish to the dark shadow, it really invokes a rather 'cold' atmosphere around her, while the red tinge sells her flushed skin after her fight and she appears lively because of it.Β The shading and texture of the armor gets the message across as well, I really like the details you added to it. The shading is really smooth on the whole drawing, giving a good relistic look to it.
Her eyes are really mesmerizing and contrast nicely to the rest of the drawing. I love her exprssion.
The nitpicky:
Taking the shading on her face as reference, the light source in this picture should be somewhere to the right in the same depth as Lacilla. Assuming that, some of the shadows are odd, the strands of hair running across her face and forehead don't cast a shadow. Looking at the overall shape of her hair(large strands of hair) and the context, it should be wet and glue to her body(so next to no shadow), but be as well a little more reflective. As it is, the shading implies some glossy but dry hair, the shape heavy wet hair. The light reflexes around her chin and lips further imply the wet look.
The Leather strip loosely following the collarbone somehow bugs me out. the placement of her shoulder is fine as I can see, but the even curve of that part kills the depth, it looks just to far back. Maybe adding a sharper angle to it where it starts to curve around the shoulder?

Thanks so much for your in-depth observations. You have made some great points that I will examine further. On her hair I was going for a wet and sticky in places and dry in others look. I probably should have just made it look evenly damp all over. Her hair is usually like this:Β Β but I imagined that she took it down after the fight in her fatigue and the large portion of it bound up in the bun would have been dry for the most part. In any case I probably over thought it...lol.Β Thanks again!

The first thing I have to say about this piece is how smooth and nice the skin looks, you did a really good job on the highlights and the texture looks really realistic, the clothes also look nice, specially with the details but it looks a bit odd looking, I don't know what kind of material they're made of but if it's just cloth I guess you could've make the texture more smooth, but other than that, the shading looks great.Β
I really liked the hair and you drew it in such a carefree and realistic way, and the lips, oh boy, they really are something. They look so real and just so nice, I really liked it.Β
The glow in the eyes is also something that catched my eye, the color stands out because the rest is in a darker tone so it makes them look more special in the piece, the look on her face really adds a lot to the drawing.Β
The lack of background and it being a neutral color doesn't affect the drawing as much because the character itself makes up for it with realistic detail and attention to the eyes.Β
Finally, this is a really great piece, truly beautiful. Keep up the good work ^^
