Description
This is an RSS Feed Reader I made using a tutorial on the Rainmeter website. I then heavily modified it to do what I required it to do.You can have 10 feeds on here and the little dots allow you to change the feeds that are displayed.
If you press the RSS icon it shows and hides the feeds to keep a minimal looking desktop.
To change each feed you have to edit the ini file with your favourite text editor (I'd use notepad or notepad++). In the variables section there are 2 sets of variables you have to change:
1. The actual link and;
2. The name of the link (so when you hover over it the name is displayed in the bottom right).

I've just discovered this feed reader. It looks easy to read and use. The problem is that when I load it, it shows up for a second on my desktop then disappears. It's still selected as a skin. I wonder if there are version issues? Rainmeter has been updated since this release. I wonder why I'm having this problem? Kind of upsetting that I've not found any easily readable feeds that allow you to have more than a few feeds displayed. May have to make my own!

How do you get the feeds to work. None of the existing RSS feed work. I tried an ESPN rss feed and it also doesn't work.Β
I tried some other RSS feed reader and the links work, but for whatever reason this Blackthorn RSS reader doesn't work for me.

Is it possible to have it shifting between the feeds? Gnometer's feed did that. It was a nice feature.
Also, I noticed that some of the top 2 lines overlap between feeds.

1) when windows starts to show up unhided, not to be hide and you need to press on rss icon to show
2) if you can inspire from this code [link] and make 2 rss feeds windows in one rss

Any way to remove some of the dots if I dont want 10? And the mouseover effect display of the feed name is cool but wont fit into the space I've alloted for it. Awesome skin tho!

Sorry about such a late reply, I haven't been on here for a while, but there is no easy way to do what you want. If you know anything about rainmeter coding you try editing the code, if I remember the code should be well anotated.
Sorry I couldn't help much dude, I haven't used rainmeter for a while. But I hope I get some time to update the skins to work better with the newer version.

Definitely the best RSS feed I've seen out there. I needed to tweak a few things about it though. I can't seem to get the circle buttons on the bottom to display in a black color when active. I don't know if it's possible but lets face it, that would really help when glancing over to the feeds.
Any idea how to do this?

Sorry about the late reply. I haven't been on here in ages, busy with work. But if I remember correctly, you can't get the buttons to change colour when they're active unfortunately as otherwise there for have to be a different set of buttons for each rss feed.
If I get any time I'll trying and modify or rebuild the feed reader keeping what you said in mind.

I forgot I even said anything lol. Well I've been modding it lately and yea you're right, the buttons don't change color on their own. I made more buttons and manipulated them to do what their intended to do. All-in-all I'm happy with it now and kinda anxious to show it off. You interested?

THE best feed reader for rainmeter
i am facing a little problem though with twitter feed
when i first put the feed url it worked fine but then all of a sudden only twitter feeds do not load while others work fine
any clue??

I just want to ask you if it's possible to wrap a feed title to two or more lines, if the title is longer than item width?

I think it is possible if you increase the height of the box so much that a second line of text fits. I can't quite remember if it'll work as I haven't worked on a rainmeter config for quite a while.

Hello there, yea its amazing when you find just what you are looking for, and its all the better after you've been after it for a while and find yourself frustrated and it just ends up making the joy of finding it all the sweeter.
As soon as i get things the way i want them ill be sure to send you a link of the end result, as it stands now i just kinda reset everything and and going back and picking and choosing what i add instead of trying to use a whole skin pack and tweaking it. Guess i should have done that in the first place huh lol.
