Description
This was shot in Antalya, without my motherThe best way to tell you about it is that I enter the text here that was on a blackboard there:
"HADRIAN'S GATE
This is the only remaining entrance gate to the ancient city of Antalya and harbour in the walls that surrounded them. It was in the honour of the visit of Emperor Hadrianus to Antalya in 130 A.D. Rising up on four pedestals it has three entrances with it's ornamental pillars and double front it has the appearance of a Roman Triumphal Arch. There were probably statues of the Emperor and his family on top of the arch, but these have not survived until the present day.
The towers on either side of the gate are different. That on the left belongs to the Roman era, while the inscription on the right shows that it was built by Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat 1. (13. century)"
