A subject of Project: G.E.M’s who remained a Parthenon Mutation for all of thirty seconds before going off to do his own thing, potato farmer Freddy Sherwood is a towering beast of a tree-man lurking within the Grand Lands’ massive Whisper Woods, only emerging to scare off – and if necessary, kill – anyone who finds themselves on his territory. He far outclasses the other Parthenon Mutations in size and toughness, and could almost certainly be one of their greatest assets, but for better or worse, he’s only a member in name; a grumpy and cynical recluse whose disdain for humanity cannot be overstated, Sherwood wants absolutely nothing to do with G.E.M, their Paradigms, or their war with the Nightlighters… and as many found out the hard way, he’s just as likely to attack THEM as he is anyone else who comes after him. In Sherwood’s head, there isn’t a distinction between ally or enemy; all he wants is for them to just leave him alone.

In spite of his rough personality and inability to play well with others, how Sherwood feels about nature is the exact opposite of his thoughts on humankind; he’s in a state of almost childish wonder at the natural beauties the Whisper Woods offers, and he’s made it his job to protect the wildlife within from anything that may harm them; whether that means stepping on predators like the Ferals, stringing up poachers, or picking up pitchfork-wielding mobs who’ve come to his forest and then yeeting them back to wherever they came from… it makes no difference to him; as long as his little animal friends are safe, he’s happy. He’s also demonstrated a willingness to help if the stakes are high enough; when faced with a choice between the big guy and the small guy, Sherwood will choose the latter every single time. But for now, he prefers to stay as far away from everyone as possible and tend to his forest… UNLESS he’s in the mood for visiting the neighboring town and scaring the absolute shit out of everyone living there. Because come on… that NEVER gets old.

Freddy Sherwood/Treefiend is a 15-meter tall tree-man with the ability to manipulate and control any plant and tree around him; he can increase tree growth rate and cause plants to bloom instantly, revive large swaths of dead forestry, and use branches, leaves, vines, and a variety of other plants for offensive and defensive means; he’s well known for using vines or branches to ensnare opponents, and can cause mass damage by tearing up the ground under towns and hamlets with massive roots; when in a forest, Treefiend can manipulate the entire environment around him, ensuring you will not get away from him alive. Treefiend himself can morph or shape his body to create shields or weapons, and his wooden skin is so tough he is practically resistant to fire. As a living plant, Treefiend does not need to eat; he gains his sustenance through photosynthesis. He also has exemplary throwing and aiming skills; when all else fails, he simply picks up an opponent and flings them out of his territory; he has enough physical strength to ensure they land several miles away.
