So I love Alice in Wonderland, and I love magical girls. So one day I thought "why not combine the two things and make a character from it? Cue Alice Dodgson. I made her as an character to RP at on Tumblr (the blog is goaskalxce).

Personality
Alice, thanks to her upbringing, is a mature, compassionate, wise, and intelligent young woman and overall a very polite girl all around. However, she is certainly not a doormat, as this does not stop her from being brave and headstrong as well. She will seek justice and fairness with every ounce of determination she has.

Alice would not be Alice without her curious and adventurous nature, which is a double edge sword, sometimes it leads to great things…other times not so much.

On the downside, Alice can be a hypocrite sometimes. Often calling others out of things that she herself also does, and not always taking her own advice to heart. She can also be rather lazy, as she would rather do something else than anything that doesn’t catch her interest. Her bravery can also stray into recklessness should she underestimate her circumstances. She can also be rather impatient if too much “nonsense” is piled up onto her.

Alice, being a witch, has access to a variety of spells with the use of her magic wand. In her magic system, there are four kinds of magic known as “suits”.
Hearts: Illusionary magic. Manipulating the environment to trick or manipulate others using things that are not really there. Spells like this range from casting sounds, smells, or images of people or objects to disguise spells. However the illusions are not permanent and may not be able to trick everyone.

Diamonds: Manipulation. Specifically, this suit refers to the manipulation of nature and the elements. Use of this magic should be treaded with caution, as it can lead to unintended effects on the environment around them.

Clubs: Transmutation, or really any magic that alters the form of the self or others. This includes transforming objects into other objects and size manipulation.

Spades: Magic attacks . These are mainly used for self defense, and as a last resort as they can be rather unpredictable and have unintended effects on the user and the environment around them.

Alice doesn’t always use her magic for combat, considering it a last resort, as her magic spells are meant to be used as tools. She prefers to use her magic to trick or outsmart any threats that might get in her way.

Alice also has the ability to create portals on reflective surfaces (mirrors, glass panels, bodies of water, etc.) Either to travel to other worlds or return to her world.

Of course, a witch is usually not a witch without some kind of transportation. For Alice, it’s her trusty broomstick, which is much more colorful and decorated than your average broomstick. If need be, Alice can disguise it as a functioning moped.

Background/History
We all know the story of Alice in Wonderland. A young girl ends up falling down a rabbit hole into a strange land where nothing makes sense. Well, that was certainly part of this Alice’s story…but there’s a lot more to it, something more magical if you will…

Here, Wonderland is no dream and it was not always a world of nonsense. Far from it, Four powerful mages made their home in this land, once decayed and derelict. Thanks to their magic, the world became vibrant and serene, and full of wonder, hence it’s name.

Wonderland drew in many creatures and people, the mages would soon form covens; groups of people who wished to learn the magic the mages wielded. These people would come to be known as “Witches”.

Unfortunately, Wonderland’s harmony would not last forever. As darkness befell the Mage of Hearts, making her mad with power. This tragedy was known as “The Red Calamity” The calamity did not destroy Wonderland, but rather reshape it thanks to the illusionary magic the mage was well known for, logic and reason fell right out the window and turned the residents mad as well. Without a way to reverse the calamity and wanting to prevent further damage, the other mages sacrificed their magic to become the other queens of Wonderland, which forced the Mage of Hearts to become the Queen of Hearts, who was still mad as ever, angry that her gift of magic was taken away from her. The witches, the last remains of Wonderland’s magic, were forced to leave Wonderland to avoid the Queen’s rage, as she relentlessly persecuted them, wanting their magic for her own to become a mage again.

Alice, the daughter of one of these witches, at the age of 3 was whisked away to London so she could be safe from the Queen of Heart’s wrath. There, she was adopted by the Henry and Edith Dodgeson, and became part of the upper-class family. There, she lived a normal and peaceful life with them in their manor…at least, it started out normal.

At the age of 7, on the 4th of May, Alice pursued a White Rabbit into a rabbit hole, arriving in Wonderland. The queen almost had her, she nearly did, so close to taking the young girl’s magic while it was super ripe. But, nimble little Alice was able to escape back into the real world, avoiding this grim fate.

Alice did not find out about her origins until she was a teenager. Where she ended up in Wonderland again thanks to a magic mirror in her bedroom. There, she met the other three queens, who gave Alice her spell book, wand, and broomstick. All witches were given these things when they became of age (13).

Alice, when she turned 18, was able to move out into her own home, which was smaller than her parent’s manor, but she doesn’t mind. She works as a library assistant at the Bodlein Library.

Of course, a simple life in England can get pretty boring, so thanks to her magic and the mirror in her bedroom, she often visits and explores other worlds. Some worlds are more grounded in reality, while others are downright bizarre.

With skill and courage, perhaps one day, she can restore Wonderland to it’s former glory…one day…

Other Information
In terms of schooling, Alice was privately tutored.
This also means she doesn’t have friends, but that does not mean she’s a loner, as most of her time was spend with her family, the other kids she was tutored with, and the friends of her parents. So she does have a pretty good grasp on socializing even if she never made any outside friends.
Alice doesn’t usually swear, due to it being heavily frowned upon in her family. She only swears if she feels like it’s necessary or called for. And because she’s English, Words such as arse, bloody, bugger, and git are the ones she uses.
