Description I made this little sculpture years ago for an art class at college. The assignment was to make a found object sculpture that has some meaning behind it. I made the string doll myself, the camera was from a pair of earrings, the flower was made of wire and nail polish, the flower pot was the cap to a tube of paint, the tombstone is an old diary key, and the ground was made from cardboard and glass aquarium stones. The sculpture as a whole represents dealing with the struggle of losing someone dear to you. In my case, it was about my doggy companion of 12 years who died from cancer. It's actual size is quite small, the base fits in my palm, so it's no more than 5 inches in diameter and the tallest point is maybe 2 or 3 inches in height.

This photo itself is also an art project, albeit a personal one. I controlled the lighting and all of the other important elements of photography to try and get an artful photo with meaning behind it. In my post work, I did what I could to give it a moody, yet comfortable feeling. I wanted to symbolize the grief of loss and the comfort of healing and moving forward. The reason the doll is holding a camera is that photography is a good stress reliver and coping tool for me. So photographing a grave of someone I've lost would help me move forward. It's almost sort of like I'm still making memories with them.

Respectful feedback is always welcome!
