Caleb and I were leafing through random screen shots from the movie Rango. He told me to stop on this one, then asked, "Does that sign say Soiled Dove?"I squinted a bit and replied, "I think so."
Then he asked, "As in, whores?"
And I replied, "What?"
Then he explained: somewhere out west there's an entertainment district with an avian theme. I think it's called The Birdcage, for the place is known for their prostitutes or, as they like to call them, soiled doves.
So, with that obscure reference in mind, and with guns, liquor, smoking and other adult themes sprinkled in Rango, can we assume the town of Dirt also has a whore house?
Either way, something tells me the next Rango OC or few will be prostitutes. And something tells me one of those OCs may be mine

Well, rango wasn't precisely a movie for kids, it was more a movie for adults and teens I think, you can clearly see it for the amount of death people, smoking, drinking and the references of money control and and cheating and stealing and other stuff. So I think it was more a movie for teens who like west movies but without excessive violence.
So I guess...maybe they referenced that too?...there was a lot of other mature themes after all, so it wouldn't surprise me....what surprised me it's that comment of yours, I didn't know "soiled doves" meant that! And I wouldn't have never guessed!

I found it weird the DVD had the "FSK ab 6" label on it. So that means: approved for 6 years-old audiences. XD

since they were using words as "Schlampe" (German: "slut") and ... I didn't quite understand the English voices much but...yeeaaaah... Also the men talking about their "body problems", that man being found murdered and the musicians singing "See his entrails get scattered, Watch him lose his cojones" - made me wonder a bit that the movie would be for an older audience than 6. - lol
I don't complain about it, not at all. - that's how they were in the old west, and also: As much as I like animation movies, they often try to be "kid-friendly" and I don't mind it - but it's refreshing seeing something more "adult-like" once in a while. :3

Ah yes, the Birdcage Theater in Tombstone Arizona. The crew of Ghost Adventures went there. It was a good episode.

Well, you guys remember the 4 second clip of the "saloon girls" talking to Rango?
It was the scene when he was all decked out in the HUGE sombraro thing with the balls around the rim....
He basically greeted them like the cool sheriff he thought he was XD
And, the toad wasn't the only saloon girl there. There was the mangy fox girl too (Not the mayor's assitant, the other one)
Very funny, I would have never picked up on that. Props to the guy who noticed it

LOL I never noticed that. Although I did see two characters that struck me as being "soiled doves". I remember being pleased because I figured the whole famous "whore house factor" that is prominent in westerns was going to be left out. Im glad they subtley snuck it in there

I was surprised that they slipped some soiled doves into a kids movie, but impressed that they at least subtley snuck them in. Then laughed later on when Rango tipped his hat to those soiled doves and they reacted as if Rango was hitting on them

I haven't made a prostitute OC yet, made a gunslinger/drifter/guitarist lizard OC instead.
but I have thought of it. gotten as far as a robin named Red. I'm pretty sure robins don't live in the desert, but come on, what better animal whore than a robin named Red?
I also thought of making an OC out of a legless lizard, cause legless lizards are awesome

alternate OCS are fun. I thought of making my OC Tao into an animal (most likely some kind of monkey) and putting her in Rango. of course, she would kill me for that, but it would be fun
I also thought, if I ever made a Rango fanfic, I thought of adding a prostitute character who flirts at Rango, just to see Beans stamp on Rango's tail every time Rango giggles nervously about the flirting. I know Rango wouldn't cheat on Beans now that they're most likely seeing each other, but I can see it in Rango's character to act nervous around an interested whore "heh heh, thanks but I'm spoken for

I have an alternate story for my current Rango fic, where visit my fic town, FastLane, and its only ba tr has prostitutes in it and my oc is one and has her eyes set on waffles XD
And I can imagine beans, Rango and a prostitute together XD And Rango all nervous XD

now that I think about it. I think I noticed two characters that looked kinda like prostitutes...when Rango first became Sheiff, and was walking past the saloon, he was all, "evening, ladies" to two lizards/frogs that had some frilly low cut dresses on....

yeah, the swearing, smoking, drinking and stuff didn't bother me in the movie. though, I have to admit, some of their adult humor may not fly so high over some kids heads

I thought the movie would be good, and luckily I was right. it got bizarre at some moments, but other than that a good film. I was drawn to it by the wonderful animation and Johnny Depp. people disagree, but I think Johnny Depp is a great character actor. also, I wanted to see if the "emotion capture" thing they did to the film was worth it [link]

yeah, I thought it was pretty darn western to see smoking and drinking, and western and stretching the 'PG for kids' rating when they said hell a lot, but why should I complain about that?
huh, musta missed the tarts. I'll keep an eye out when I watch the movie again. I did hit the restroom real fast during the scene where Rango was first patrolling the town, maybe I missed some tarts there. I wondered if a few talked or flirted at Rango? I'd love to see him awkwardly laugh at that

Yeah, one is this big toad-lady, which all the terrible make-up and short cut dress and I'm not to sure what specie the little one is. But she talks at the bar after Rang told his "7 dead with 1 bullet" story and he's talking with that monitor lizard guy.
