Description
I am not responsible for what you do with this tutorial. Just a learning exercise. This is my first tutorial so there may be some mistakes.
The model used is at mediafire.com/download/k6as4t716a21iy6/tutorial.zip
Begin Video Transcript.
I am going to instruct you on editing an MMD model with blender.
First, you have to prepare the model using pmdeditor before importing into blender.
Delete the parts of the model in which you are not working on. Usually these are the parts
not needed for the body.
Now, remove all physics and joints.
Make sure you have hidden bones selected. Using weight view mode, delete any bones that are not weighted to the mesh. Usually, these are bones for clothes and hair.
End Video Transcript.

I don't have any info on how to do it in blender. Though it might be possible. What I'd do is go to UV editor and export the uv layout of the material you are working with. Then just edit the texture using the uv layout in another program like gimp.
