My entry for round three of the & joint contest.I sure back when I did my GCSE in history I read somewhere about the Allied forces swapping parts of their uniforms with each other when they met up with each other, so when the theme for this round came up I decided to do something based on that.
It appears both the Solar Empire and Luna Republic factions have all been given a strip of white ribbon with a combined logo on it to personalize their armor with. Initially I had Octavia tying the ribbon round one of her forehooves, but as soon as I realized she could turn it into a bow-tie, I instantly changed her pose.
I hardly got any time to work on this rounds entry due to producing work for a client, which is why their isn't any background stuff going on, and why it's pencil coloured, which reminds me, if any of you out there have ever commissioned a piece of work from someone and constantly changed your mind about what you've wanted from them throughout the creation of the piece, that is possibly one of the cruelest things you can do to an artist. I was driven more or less driven to the edge of insanity and back over the past month because of that!

That sounds a lot like the Christmas Truce in 1914. Good move having Octavia tie it into a bowtie - I like it.
As for the fickle client, I feel your pain. I used to work for an advertising company in Denver, Colorado. Thankfully I did web application development, but a good friend of mine was the in-shop artist. This video describes how every project went down [link] . I doubt it's very different across the pond.
