Yep, it's a photogenic bridge but tricky to get a good composition I think, although I like how you've also got the other folly in the background with the path winding it's way from the Palladian Bridge up to the other folly (or appears to).

Aye, I'm quite happy with the way this came out, I waited about an hour for a spot of light shining through the patchy cloud to hit the right place

I sincerely need much more time to come and wander through your gallery! There is always something to delight in. What a bridge! I need to build a piece of art around that bridge someday.

Well, if you need any images of the bridge, I've got larger versions and some from different angles too if you want them.
I love visiting Stowe, it was built by a looney with far too much money in the 18th Century, the whole garden has about 40 replicas of Greek and Roman temples and other buildings in it. Cheaper than a flight to the Mediterranean
Thanks for the too.

I remember seeing that bridge in books!
Yours is a lovely shot, Phil - the lighting is so serene.

I was quite lucky with the lighting, the sunlight didn't want to behave and there were only a few gaps in the cloud, there was a lot of waiting involved

It's an amazing thing to have in your garden Apparently there's only three bridges in that style in this country.

Its kind of showy for a bridge isn't it, so grand! Seems like someone was trying to prove something when they commissioned that!

Just a little... It's a case of a more money than sense Duke deciding that his garden was boring, so he plastered the place with fake Greek and Roman temples. There are over 40 of them in the garden now and there were more!

Beautiful composition. The light on the green hill in front of the church in the background looks great!

It took me about an hour of waiting for a break in the cloud to illuminate the bit I wanted, I'm glad I had a thermos of tea with me
Thanks for the !

Do you mean the clouds do actually part sometimes in England?

I think there might have been a blue moon that night.

Yep, and the view down the lake from it is beautiful too. You're not allowed to jump off of it though...

Thank you It was the only decent picture I managed to get in four hours but I'm quite happy that I got it. There was a nice pot of tea and a chesse scone involved too, so an enjoyable day
