My goodness, this is great! The awkward pose of Karkat suggests he's not used to waist hugs, while Jade looks so content just to squeeze him tightly. Don't be afraid to add a slight more colour, be adventurous with your doodles. The faces are well-drawn and you even added Jade's little doggy-snout. The only thing I would change is maybe try to colour within the outlines? It makes it look slightly neater.

oh man. Thanks for the input, but this was literally like, a 10 minute scribble to get the idea out :3

Ahah! I wish I could scribble as good as you. I have no co-ordination whatsoever, so everything turns out like a retarded cow. For a ten minute scribble, it's amazing. Though, I have two things to ask you. One, could you perhaps make a tutorial to draw so well? Someone as good as you must have a method that works well. And, where do you roleplay? I've been searching for a good group. That is, if you don't mind me asking. Sorry, I'm rather nosy!

hehee, mostly I RP with my friends, not really a set up group or anything, though we did start a derp Homestuck forum thing a while back *though we all kinda fail at checking up on it. I keep getting yelled at to post on there XD* but there's some other cool people that kinda hang out around there too :3

as far as a tutorial or somethin goes, the best I can really say is practice practice practice, and when in doubt, use a reference. There's already a toooon of tutorials floating around on the internet as it is, but most of what I know how to do just comes from powering through the 'ohgod my art is shit T_T' days *which I still have* and drawing regaurdless.

One thing I did learn though is if you work in pen, where you can't erase, it does help you get better at being more sure of your strokes, and keeps you from being allowed to worry too much about mistakes, since you cant erase, you just have to work through them. And try not to ever just completely give up on a picture if one little thing starts to bug you *then again, there are some times when a pose just does not work to save your life and starting over can be better* but if you're just practicing, keep working at it. Try all kinds of poses and different subjects, and make sure you can set aside a bit of time each day and just draw, even if it's just drawing what you see around your room.

Draw things, people, things straight from your imagination, or try to redraw another picture as accurately as you can.

Now, in that, I am deffinitely not saying to copy someone elses stuff stroke for stroke and claim it as your own, but it was also a big thing that helped me learn how to draw. Sitting and looking at someone's style that you really like the look of, or at least aspects of a style you like, and practicing those bits on their own, mixing styles until you're happy with something you've created, can be a big help.

Years back, I'd redraw a ton of pages from manga, or scenes from the disney movies or whatever i felt like that day. I've still got pages and pages of me basically copying things as closely as I could, but none of it was ever anything I'd post, since it was just practice, learning how to get just the right angles down, or the right expression on a face, but later on, all that practice helped me to get where I am now.

There isn't really any specific magic technique to be able to instantly draw better, but once you get the hang of it, and something actually 'clicks' you will get better :3

Truthfully, I'm never 100% happy with anything I draw, still, but i'm glad for that, because it means I still have plenty to learn, and more to improve on. Really, I don't ever want to be completely happy with my own art, cause I want to know I'll always be able to grow.

If you've got something a little more specific that you'd want to get better at, I could help you find some tutorials, or make something myself when I get a bit of spare time, but really, the best thing I can say is to practice until your hands are sore, and keep on practicing after that. Eventually it becomes a feeling you'll get used to, and welcome *nods*

*realizes she just rambled like a maniac XD*

but yeah :3 Definitely stick with it. if you had some stuff up in your gallery I could probably give ya a bit better advice, but, yeah x3

Thank you. I'll try to draw more in pen, I usually just derp around in pencil.
I have a -lot- of difficulty drawing, like I said, because of my co-ordination. I can see what I want to draw, but I won't come out on paper. It's extremely frustrating, though it's allowed me to truly appreciate art, even small doodles like yours. I don't even have a long enough attention span to keep writing, like you do!
Living with difficulties in some areas push me to the best I can be in others, like literacy. If you ever want to roleplay, just ask! I can do anything from simple scripts to paragraphs.
Is there a certain reference you use? Or is it just, 'Quick, I can't draw, look up something!'? Sorry for all these questions, I just have no chance of being proud enough to upload something to my gallery otherwise.
Being happy that you're in the middle, neither 'OHMYGOD YOU'RE BETTER THAN MOZART' or '...That sucks.' is, as I would imagine, a good feeling.
I haven't had years of experience, nor any proper training, so I don't expect to be as half as good as you. Sure, I can write a story of more than 1,000 words in an hour, but pictures are worth 1,000 words. Drawing, for me, is like trying to climb a cliff, without a safety harness. There's no way in hell I can do it.
You're actually offering to help me, even if it's just a simple tutorial or sketch that I need to get going? I'd like to be able to draw humans. I've looked and looked at the tutorials, but nothing helps! I've bought so many books on how to draw that I don't know where to put them all. It still doesn't help!
